4490 5629 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4194 5694 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ cstyle
3987 5723 d 5 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Read command line for multiboot modules on ia32 and copy it to task name. Other arches will need to initialize task names in the init structure to an empty string.
3919 5735 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/include/ cstyle
3228 5940 d 22 h decky /trunk/ physical memory detection in MSIM (discontinous regions supported)
remove Sgi Indy (ARC) support -- it was unmaintaned, untested for years and without uspace support

3198 5966 d 7 h svoboda /trunk/ Use initrd with mips32 port. Increase memory size.
2725 6112 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2089 6486 d 12 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6497 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1894 6617 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Add balloc() (a.k.a boot allocator):
- balloc() only needs to know how to allocate memory.
- Memory allocated via balloc() is supposed to be passed to kernel and never freed by boot itself.
- make kernel aware of boot allocations

More work on OFW device tree:
- use balloc() to efficiently and safely allocate memory for the canonical copy of the device tree

sparc64 boot:
- pass OFW device tree root node pointer to kernel

1888 6622 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1856 6637 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
- Modify before_thread_runs_arch() to store addresses of the kernel stack and
userspace window buffer, resp., to registers %g6 and %g7, resp, in the
alternate and interrupt global sets.
- Modify after_thread_ran_arch() to sample %g7 from the alternate globals.
- Implement trap handler for spilling register windows into userspace window buffer.
- Implement assembly language functions to access %g6 and %g7 registers in the alternate sets.
- Initialize the trap table so that there are now also spill_1_normal, spill_2_normal,
spill_0_other and fill_1_normal handlers. These handlers are used in different situations
and for different purposes.

1833 6666 d 1 h decky /trunk/kernel/ more sophisticated initial stack handling
1787 6687 d 7 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6694 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1757 6708 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
1702 6715 d 11 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1315 6746 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Improve framebuffer speed by buffering blank line.
1138 6793 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ CPU stacks must have two frames on ia64.
Make sure both thread stack frames are mapped in before_thread_runs_arch().
Take STACK_FRAMES into account during kernel memory layout initialization in main_bsp().

1037 6804 d 14 h decky /kernel/trunk/ support for more init tasks
(might break some archs yet)
