4675 5587 d 23 h decky /trunk/ cleanup some of the dirty hacks introduced into the arm32 port
add default configurations for the two supported arm32 variants

4669 5590 d 2 h pillai /trunk/ ARM port for development board integratorcp(ARM926EJ core module).
4556 5630 d 6 h decky /trunk/ define endianess externally to be able to exactly specify whether we are using UTF-32LE or UTF-32BE
quit messing with BOM in UTF-32

4490 5644 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4311 5688 d 2 h decky /trunk/ change the way how input devices are wired together according to ticket #44
(also the proposal http://lists.modry.cz/cgi-bin/private/helenos-devel/2009-March/002507.html)

4117 5727 d 15 h decky /trunk/ arm32: update for the new scheme of device drivers and keyboard/serial modules
streamline arm32 port (as GXemul is still the only machine supported), more cleanup is needed

4045 5732 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/arm32/ Remove ARM's console_init() because it conflicts with the generic
console_init(). No functionality loss as it was a mere wrapper around
machine_console_init().

4027 5736 d 16 h svoboda /trunk/ Init task names for arm32.
4021 5736 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ There is no need to define ioport{8,16,32}_t types for each architecture separately.
4018 5736 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/arm32/ better inline assembler readability using the new symbolic syntax
3973 5741 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3952 5746 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/arm32/ Remove unnecessary stuff from arm32.
3949 5746 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/arm32/include/ PIO functions for arm32.
3940 5747 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make hw_area API more generic
this allows mapping of EGA VRAM on ia32/amd64

3929 5748 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5750 d 16 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3917 5750 d 17 h decky /trunk/ remove non-standard define
3908 5751 d 20 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3902 5752 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3880 5755 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup
