3502 5864 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented Serengeti console driver (only output, input TBD), all output now goes to the console instead of Simics CLI window.
3467 5897 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ SMP and CPU initialiation modified to work even with Serengeti OFW tree layout; support for output to the Simics CLI console added (see my blog); some header files modified to conform US-III definition. Now HelenOS (on the sample configuration - usiii.simics) is able to run some userspace tasks.
3398 5907 d 20 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ US used as a code for the UltraSPARC I-II subarchitecture instead of US2.
3397 5907 d 21 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged recent changes from trunk into the Sparc branch.
3365 5925 d 12 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Integrated US-III port into the build process; added script for downloading and patching SILO; added patched SILO binaries; modified sources of the Sparc64 port up to the beginning of the main_bsp_separated_stack function: phys. address size not hardwired but configurable (41 bits on US-II, 43 bits on US-III), WSTATE register implicitly written 0 on startup.
3343 5931 d 18 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
2725 6126 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2610 6208 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Support for six syscall arguments for sparc64.
There is a minor stability issue which needs to be fixed (kernel panics upon entering kconsole from the
console task).

2462 6371 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Replace gcc-specific __FUNCTION__ with C99 __func__.
suncc's xregs=no%float can be used only on sparc64.

2460 6371 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Better infrastructure for building with different compilers.
Separate ICC_CFLAGS added, SUNCC_CFLAGS extended.

2454 6372 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A bit of infrastructure for building with different compilers.
CFLAGS split into GCC_CFLAGS and SUNCC_CFLAGS.
As of now, there are no separate ICC_CFLAGS, but can be easily added.

2141 6442 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2125 6486 d 14 h decky /trunk/ experimental support for Objective C
(disabled by default)

2071 6511 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2009 6555 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Initial support for handling illegal virtual aliases on sparc64.
2008 6557 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Add dcache_flush() function that flushes D-Cache on sparc64.
1911 6614 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1903 6623 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ SMP stuff for sparc64.
Almost complete except for IPIs.
The absence of IPI support deadlocks
the kernel when more CPUs are configured.

1897 6627 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6628 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.
