4718 5619 d 6 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Net: merge with trunk head (0.4.1)
4581 5712 d 1 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Net: synchronized with trunk rev.4580
4263 5791 d 0 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Net: merged with trunk:4261
4153 5813 d 0 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Networking: merged with trunk changes
3386 6009 d 3 h decky /branches/network/ add new network branch (copy of current trunk)
3083 6101 d 4 h decky /trunk/uspace/srv/ns/ service banner
2677 6256 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Rename IPC_M_AS_AREA_SEND to IPC_M_SHARE_OUT. Rename IPC_M_AS_AREA_RECV to
IPC_M_SHARE_IN. Provide user-friendly wrappers for these methods so that even
dummies can get it right. Some applications using simpler protocols still use
these methods directly.

2637 6282 d 23 h cejka /trunk/ Extended IPC_M_CONNECT_TO_ME to use 3 user defined parameters.
Phone identifier is passed in ARG5.

2635 6284 d 23 h cejka /trunk/ Function ipc_connect_me_to sends 3 user defined arguments now.
One argument added also to ipc_forward_fast.
Fixed devmap and improved its test.

2622 6293 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ Add mode argument to IPC forward.
This argument can be used to modify the way forward behaves.

2619 6296 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Modify ipc_answer_*() to make use of all six syscall arguments. The recommended
means of answering calls is via the ipc_answer_m() macros (where m denotes the
number of return arguments) that automatically decide between the fast register
version or the slow universal version of ipc_answer().

2594 6311 d 22 h cejka /trunk/uspace/ New version of device mapper.
Added devmap test to tester.

2588 6314 d 4 h jermar /trunk/uspace/ Add ipc_answer_fast_[01] macros so that ipc_answer_fast() users don't have to
write zero arguments all the time.

2479 6447 d 6 h jermar /trunk/ New, better-structured, directory layout for uspace.
2476 6449 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Cleanup.
2471 6453 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Greatly improve comments in the IPC layer.
Now I think I finally start to understand our IPC internals :-)

2141 6534 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2071 6603 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2015 6642 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

2012 6645 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Eliminate confusion between SYS_MAP_PHYSMEM and sys_physmem_map.
The syscall is to be called SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP from now on and the functions that participate in its implementation are
called *physmem_map().
