4692 6055 d 3 h svoboda /branches/tracing/ Merge trunk changes up to r4686.
4377 6155 d 3 h svoboda /branches/tracing/ Merge latest trunk changes to tracing. (i.e. revs 3684:4374, huge). This time hopefully the real thing.
3684 6310 d 4 h svoboda /branches/tracing/ Merge latest trunk changes to tracing.
3610 6325 d 12 h svoboda /branches/tracing/kernel/generic/src/time/ Correct condition for running udebug_before_thread_runs().
3431 6392 d 2 h svoboda /branches/tracing/kernel/ Add configuration option CONFIG_UDEBUG to compile udebug in the kernel or not.
3015 6503 d 11 h svoboda /branches/tracing/kernel/generic/ Call udebug_stoppable_begin() after scheduling, rather than before - avoid restricted contex.
2925 6516 d 14 h svoboda /branches/tracing/ Merged latest trunk changes to tracing branch
2869 6529 d 1 h svoboda /branches/tracing/kernel/generic/src/time/ Make preempted threads stoppable, so CPU-bound threads can be stopped
2787 6565 d 6 h decky /branches/tracing/ add dynamic linking, debugging and tracing branch
2745 6594 d 11 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2275 6907 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ add fancy uptime kconsole command
2183 6922 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Continue to de-oversynchronize the kernel.
- replace as->refcount with an atomic counter; accesses to this
reference counter are not to be done when the as->lock mutex is held;
this gets us rid of mutex_lock_active();

Remove the possibility of a deadlock between TLB shootdown and asidlock.
- get rid of mutex_lock_active() on as->lock
- when locking the asidlock spinlock, always do it conditionally and with
preemption disabled; in the unsuccessful case, enable interrupts and try again
- there should be no deadlock between TLB shootdown and the as->lock mutexes
- PLEASE REVIEW !!!

Add DEADLOCK_PROBE's to places where we have spinlock_trylock() loops.

2141 6930 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2089 6989 d 9 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 7000 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2015 7039 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

1787 7190 d 4 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 7197 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1760 7208 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1757 7211 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
