4647 6007 d 0 h jermar /branches/arm/ Branch out a new arm branch.
4490 6048 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4247 6107 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/synch/ more readable spinning printout
4220 6110 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/ update for string changes
4137 6126 d 22 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make optionality of symbol information less intrusive per Jakub's request. Also, improve symtab function names and update their semantics.
4132 6127 d 21 h svoboda /trunk/ Make kernel symbol information optional.
3790 6195 d 7 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make newlines in panic messages consistent. Add periods at end of messages so that it is obvious whether they are printed entirely.
3603 6242 d 20 h svoboda /trunk/ Stoppability sections must be much smaller (design error). Also fix deadlock in udebug_stop(). Fix pause functionality in tracer.
3222 6379 d 3 h svoboda /trunk/ Merge program-loader related stuff from dynload branch to trunk. (huge)
3186 6394 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for active mutexes. Active mutexes implement busy waiting, pretty much
in the same way as spinlocks, but can be passed to condition variables, which is
the motivation for this enhancement.

3059 6414 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ proper printf formatting
2916 6436 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ More formatting changes.
2914 6436 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/synch/ Formatting improvements.
2909 6436 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/synch/ timeouted vs. timed out
2745 6511 d 7 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2310 6807 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Cleanup the waitq_wakeup() interface.
Replace numeric constants (i.e. 0)
and boolean constants (i.e. false) with
more readable WAKEUP_FIRST. Also change the
type of the second argument of waitq_wakeup()
to a newly introduced type wakeup_mode_t.

Fix behaviour of waitq_wakeup() in case
that WAKEUP_ALL semantics is required
but no threads are sleeping in the wait
queue. This is a similar fix to that of
Jan Hudecek committed in the RCU branch,
but, IMHO, is more straightforward and
also doesn't eat up previous missed
wakeups.

2211 6837 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/synch/ reflect the renaming of printflock to printf_lock
2183 6839 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Continue to de-oversynchronize the kernel.
- replace as->refcount with an atomic counter; accesses to this
reference counter are not to be done when the as->lock mutex is held;
this gets us rid of mutex_lock_active();

Remove the possibility of a deadlock between TLB shootdown and asidlock.
- get rid of mutex_lock_active() on as->lock
- when locking the asidlock spinlock, always do it conditionally and with
preemption disabled; in the unsuccessful case, enable interrupts and try again
- there should be no deadlock between TLB shootdown and the as->lock mutexes
- PLEASE REVIEW !!!

Add DEADLOCK_PROBE's to places where we have spinlock_trylock() loops.

2109 6899 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Revert thread_interrupt_sleep() to waitq_interrupt_sleep().
I'd prefer that this, IMO, waitq related stuff stays together.

2089 6906 d 5 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes
