4605 5604 d 2 h decky /branches/snapshot/ add task snapshoting branch
4556 5618 d 7 h decky /trunk/ define endianess externally to be able to exactly specify whether we are using UTF-32LE or UTF-32BE
quit messing with BOM in UTF-32

4490 5632 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4315 5675 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Replace non-canonical B instructions with BA %xcc.
Fix one occurrence of deprecated Bicc instruction.

4314 5675 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Replace all deprecated BA (Bicc) instructions with BA %xcc instructions.
4313 5675 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Convert sgcn to the new HID wiring mechanism.
4311 5676 d 3 h decky /trunk/ change the way how input devices are wired together according to ticket #44
(also the proposal http://lists.modry.cz/cgi-bin/private/helenos-devel/2009-March/002507.html)

4282 5682 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ repair two glitches in memory management
(no beer today :))

4277 5683 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ On sparc64, do fast indentity mapping only for physical memory.
For addresses above physical memory, such as I/O devices,
fall through to the C miss handler and map the memory noncacheably.
Replace deprecated Bicc instructions with proper Bcc instructions.

4220 5694 d 8 h decky /trunk/kernel/ update for string changes
4202 5696 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ fix compilation on sparc64
4111 5715 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Update the SGCN driver to match the latest character I/O changes.
4071 5716 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Some additional fixes to the sgcn driver.
4070 5716 d 22 h rimsky /trunk/ SGCN driver modified to reflect the new keyboard driver architecture. Making the Serengeti bootable image smaller by not including some servers/applications.
4032 5722 d 20 h svoboda /trunk/ Init-task names for sparc64 (that's the final one, whew).
4021 5724 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ There is no need to define ioport{8,16,32}_t types for each architecture separately.
3973 5729 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3961 5734 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ Unbreak sparc64.
Due to the lack of userspace bus drivers for the z8530 and ns16550,
we are currently handling exactly one interrupt from these devices
in userspace.

3929 5736 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5738 d 17 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3908 5739 d 21 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5740 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3902 5741 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3880 5743 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3878 5743 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce fncptr_t and ioport_t on all platforms
3779 5783 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Only one kernel EGA driver to rule them all.
3740 5792 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Fix typo.
3736 5794 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ refresh kernel console during grab on sparc64
3722 5798 d 6 h rimsky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ SMC functions optimized for US3.
3672 5812 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Merge sparc branch to trunk.
3655 5818 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add additional members to the irq_t structure so that an interrupt-driven driver
does not need to know how to clear the level interrupt. The z8530 was modified
in this way and is much more generic. The ns16550 driver has also been modified,
but awaits testing. The sparc64 interrupt mapping and dispatch code is now using
the new info and calls the clear-interrupt-routine itself.

3654 5818 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ After my effort yesterday, there are two rival psycho drivers.
Merge the two and remove the newer one.

3647 5819 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Improvized Psycho driver.
3580 5836 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Accesses to memory mapped registers should use volatile pointers so that
the compiler doesn't even think of trying to be clever. Add memory barriers
and fixed cstyle.

3577 5837 d 8 h vana /trunk/kernel/ Support for serial port console on IA64 as a compensation for keyboard - based on SPARC ns16550 driver
3482 5876 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Do not allocate full page for the uspace window buffer.
Instead, allocate only the bare minimum to fit NWINDOWS - 1
uspace windows and to satisfy alignment requirements.

3463 5889 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Populate all sparc64 trap table slots belonging to trap_instruction_n.
3379 5909 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Add the missing preemption_disable() call to sparc64 atomic_lock_arch().
Thanks to Pavel Rimsky for noticing this.

3233 5944 d 1 h decky /trunk/ remove dummy page coloring facility, which is currenty not used
3145 5986 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ On sparc64, when the operand to the FLUSH instruction doesn't matter, the
instruction's semantics is to flush the pipeline.
