4605 5657 d 7 h decky /branches/snapshot/ add task snapshoting branch
4490 5686 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4145 5763 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/amd64/src/ fix typo
4137 5764 d 1 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make optionality of symbol information less intrusive per Jakub's request. Also, improve symtab function names and update their semantics.
4132 5764 d 23 h svoboda /trunk/ Make kernel symbol information optional.
3906 5793 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3890 5795 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_DEBUG_ALLREGS.
3880 5797 d 1 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3851 5808 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/amd64/src/ Fix amd64 UP build.
3790 5832 d 9 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make newlines in panic messages consistent. Add periods at end of messages so that it is obvious whether they are printed entirely.
3788 5832 d 22 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Unify newlines in fault_if_from_uspace() format strings. (Remove them and print newline automatically). Also start messages with caps.
2604 6252 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/amd64/src/ Fix register names in exception dump and cstyle.
2462 6414 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Replace gcc-specific __FUNCTION__ with C99 __func__.
suncc's xregs=no%float can be used only on sparc64.

2218 6473 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/ support the possibility to send EOI or Interrupt Acknowledgement
prior to processing the interrupt
(this is essential on some architectures to prevent preemption deadlock)

2071 6554 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1958 6636 d 8 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/amd64/ amd64: adopt new IRQ interface
1940 6645 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/amd64/ amd64: fix compilation, keyboard not checked yet
1937 6645 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ remove orphaned functions
1888 6679 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1787 6744 d 3 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6751 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1735 6767 d 10 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1724 6768 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/ Let mouse work on amd64 too.
1702 6772 d 7 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1595 6779 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1477 6784 d 16 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/ cleanup
1281 6813 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added means to make a simple action upon interrupt.
1258 6816 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added support for IRQ notifiactions.
- seems to work correctly on ia32, amd64
- the mips kbd probably lowers interrupts when the char is read from
the port, we will have to find a way how to deal with it.

1256 6817 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Improve SYS_IOSPACE_ENABLE support.
The general protection fault handler now contains
code to service early I/O Permission bitmap faults.

1196 6830 d 8 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Printf ported back from uspace to kernel.
Printf calls changed to match new conventions.

1100 6857 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of spinlocks, now compiles both ia32 and amd64 with
and without DEBUG_SPINLOCKS. Made spinlocks inline.
Moved syscall_handler to generic (it was identical for ia32,amd64 & mips32).
Made slightly faster syscall for ia32.
Made better interrupt routines for ia32.
Allow not saving non-scratch registers during interrupt on ia32,amd64,mips32.
Aligned interrupt handlers on ia32,amd64, this should prevent problems
with different instruction lengths.

1060 6861 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added task_print.
Fixed ipc to support connect_me_to.

1051 6861 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Move amd64's ident_page_mapper() and page_fault() to page.h.
1050 6861 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added null console for buffering output when no real output available.
Added identity mapper for AMD64 that allows whole physical memory to be
accessed before paging is initialized.

1021 6862 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Hopefully final version of interrupt handlers for amd64 and ia32.
amd64 has been especially tricky to debug.
Error code detection is now done in compile time.

958 6864 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Nicer ia32 interrupt handlers and structures holding interrupted context data.
Unify the name holding interrupted context data on all architectures to be istate.

825 6896 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Remove WAKEUP_IPI stuff.

Make it possible to use PAGE_GLOBAL on ia32, amd64 and mips32.
Make ia32 and amd64 map the kernel using PAGE_GLOBAL.

799 6899 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Preliminary work on AMD userspace.
769 6902 d 19 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ SLAB allocator now uses itself for all its internal structures.
Added description of allocator.
Removed messy_stack_trace from amd64, as it would scroll away important
part of exception.

703 6923 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().
