4153 6217 d 21 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Networking: merged with trunk changes
3386 6414 d 0 h decky /branches/network/ add new network branch (copy of current trunk)
2141 6939 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2102 6996 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2089 6998 d 3 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2086 6999 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ Don't write to frame buffer memory, which is past the resolution.
This fixes Ticket #17

Coding style a formatting changes in the frame buffer code.

2071 7008 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2054 7036 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix important comment in kernel/arch/sparc64/src/proc/scheduler.c.

Improve framebuffer code.

Formatting and indentation fixes.

2015 7047 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

1994 7065 d 3 h decky /trunk/ Add BGR 0888 visual for Ultra 60
1993 7065 d 4 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1991 7065 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ The prefered switch statement indentation is the one replaced by the previous commit :-)
1990 7066 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ framebuffer cleanup
1981 7069 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation, formatting and minor changes.
1888 7133 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1875 7140 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1871 7142 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ Replace FB_BIG_ENDIAN with FB_INVERT_ENDIAN.
Omit tests for architecture endianness in deciding framebuffer endianness.

1869 7142 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Pass "fb.bpp-align" property to userspace so that our fb task works properly even on
framebuffers used in some Sun hardware.

1837 7175 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.

1790 7196 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1787 7198 d 22 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 7205 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1766 7214 d 6 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed frame_alloc call, cleaned a lot of stuff, fixed some not-perfectly-correct error handling.
1760 7217 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1702 7227 d 2 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1690 7229 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Yet another fix with framebuffer.
1683 7230 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Pass correct yres to userspace framebuffer.
1682 7230 d 9 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fast framebuffer scrolling in kconsole. Eats some memory though.
1671 7231 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Eliminate deadlock condition from fb.
1473 7239 d 20 h decky /kernel/trunk/ kernel support for text-only framebuffer
1382 7250 d 19 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make hardware memory mapping more generic
1376 7252 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change the way the framebuffer is mapped so that sparc64 is usable again.
1371 7252 d 19 h decky /kernel/trunk/ unify the framebuffer API
use physical address as the base address for the framebuffer

1334 7256 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Force mips32 frame buffer access to be always big endian.

Fix vmaxlma.c warning when building ia64.

1327 7257 d 1 h decky /kernel/trunk/ split framebuffer initialization and sysinfo registration
1318 7257 d 20 h vana /kernel/trunk/ Sysinfo userspace interface
1317 7257 d 22 h vana /kernel/trunk/ System information tools
1316 7257 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Forgotten in last commit... improve frame buffer speed by buffering blank line.
