4647 5589 d 20 h jermar /branches/arm/ Branch out a new arm branch.
4627 5597 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/include/ mips32's istate_t must respect the 8-byte stack alignment.
4556 5617 d 6 h decky /trunk/ define endianess externally to be able to exactly specify whether we are using UTF-32LE or UTF-32BE
quit messing with BOM in UTF-32

4490 5631 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4333 5670 d 16 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Fix ELF loading issue on mips32eb.
4311 5675 d 2 h decky /trunk/ change the way how input devices are wired together according to ticket #44
(also the proposal http://lists.modry.cz/cgi-bin/private/helenos-devel/2009-March/002507.html)

4267 5686 d 15 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ str_ncpy() vs str_cpy(). TODO: The same in userspace.
4220 5693 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/ update for string changes
4148 5709 d 3 h decky /trunk/ as kernel little brother drivers are not needed anymore, the device numbers do not have to be correlated between kernel and uspace in any way
introduce new syscall sys_device_assign_devno() for generating system-wide unique device numbers for uspace

4137 5709 d 18 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make optionality of symbol information less intrusive per Jakub's request. Also, improve symtab function names and update their semantics.
4134 5710 d 15 h decky /trunk/ resurrect big endian support for mips32: switch from mips-sgi-irix5 toolchain to mips-linux-gnu
the kernel is working alright, the user space has some bugs yet

4132 5710 d 16 h svoboda /trunk/ Make kernel symbol information optional.
4110 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/ remove orphaned directory
4109 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/ use generic dsrlnin and dsrlnout devices instead of platform specific msim keyboard and console
4108 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/mm/ remove unmaintained Simics machine (might return later)
whitespace changes

4107 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/include/drivers/ remove platform-dependent msim keyboard/console driver symbols
whitespace changes

4106 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/include/mm/ remove unmaintained Simics machine (might return later)
whitespace changes

4105 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/ remove platform-dependent msim keyboard/console driver
4104 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/include/drivers/ remove unmaintained Simics serial line (might return later)
4101 5714 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ remove duplicate part of the debugger message
(it is already printed by kconsole)

4046 5719 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/ Nuke the mips32-specific ns16550 driver.
Remove the conflicting console_init() too.

4039 5721 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/ cstyle
4038 5721 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/ save destination address properly in all cases
(this fixes IPC on mips32)

4029 5722 d 16 h svoboda /trunk/ Init-task names for mips32.
4023 5723 d 17 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/arch/ Unify arch_pre_main() comments.
4021 5723 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ There is no need to define ioport{8,16,32}_t types for each architecture separately.
3973 5728 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3967 5729 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/mm/ remove typo
3966 5729 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/src/mm/ replace old ifdefs
3955 5733 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Unbreak mips32 candidate.
3953 5733 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/include/ Add missing PIO functions for mips32.
3941 5734 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Let IRQ claim methods take irq_t * instead of the instance argument.
3940 5734 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make hw_area API more generic
this allows mapping of EGA VRAM on ia32/amd64

3929 5735 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5737 d 16 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3913 5738 d 0 h decky /trunk/ mips32: basic SMP support
3910 5738 d 14 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/ eliminate non-standard -D$(MACHINE)
3908 5738 d 20 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5739 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3902 5739 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.
