4153 5762 d 11 h mejdrech /branches/network/ Networking: merged with trunk changes
3386 5958 d 14 h decky /branches/network/ add new network branch (copy of current trunk)
2141 6484 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2102 6541 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2089 6542 d 17 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2086 6544 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ Don't write to frame buffer memory, which is past the resolution.
This fixes Ticket #17

Coding style a formatting changes in the frame buffer code.

2071 6553 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2054 6581 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix important comment in kernel/arch/sparc64/src/proc/scheduler.c.

Improve framebuffer code.

Formatting and indentation fixes.

2015 6592 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

1994 6609 d 17 h decky /trunk/ Add BGR 0888 visual for Ultra 60
1993 6609 d 18 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1991 6610 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ The prefered switch statement indentation is the one replaced by the previous commit :-)
1990 6610 d 15 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ framebuffer cleanup
1981 6613 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation, formatting and minor changes.
1888 6678 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1875 6685 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1871 6686 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Replace FB_BIG_ENDIAN with FB_INVERT_ENDIAN.
Omit tests for architecture endianness in deciding framebuffer endianness.

1869 6687 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Pass "fb.bpp-align" property to userspace so that our fb task works properly even on
framebuffers used in some Sun hardware.

1837 6719 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.

1790 6741 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1787 6743 d 12 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6750 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1766 6758 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed frame_alloc call, cleaned a lot of stuff, fixed some not-perfectly-correct error handling.
1760 6761 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1702 6771 d 16 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1690 6774 d 10 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Yet another fix with framebuffer.
1683 6774 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Pass correct yres to userspace framebuffer.
1682 6774 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fast framebuffer scrolling in kconsole. Eats some memory though.
1671 6776 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Eliminate deadlock condition from fb.
1473 6784 d 11 h decky /kernel/trunk/ kernel support for text-only framebuffer
1382 6795 d 10 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make hardware memory mapping more generic
1376 6796 d 18 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change the way the framebuffer is mapped so that sparc64 is usable again.
1371 6797 d 9 h decky /kernel/trunk/ unify the framebuffer API
use physical address as the base address for the framebuffer

1334 6800 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Force mips32 frame buffer access to be always big endian.

Fix vmaxlma.c warning when building ia64.

1327 6801 d 16 h decky /kernel/trunk/ split framebuffer initialization and sysinfo registration
1318 6802 d 11 h vana /kernel/trunk/ Sysinfo userspace interface
1317 6802 d 12 h vana /kernel/trunk/ System information tools
1316 6802 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/genarch/src/fb/ Forgotten in last commit... improve frame buffer speed by buffering blank line.
