1735 6523 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1705 6527 d 1 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1702 6527 d 22 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1595 6535 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1411 6547 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify the hierarchy of page fault handlers to pass access mode that caused the fault.
Architectures are required to pass either PF_ACCESS_READ, PF_ACCESS_WRITE or PF_ACCESS_EXEC
to as_page_fault(), depending on the cause of the fault.

1396 6550 d 17 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed mips to compile with fb (missing hw_map).
Fixed mips hw virt/phys addresses of fb.
Moved fb_init to post_mm, because it needs malloc().

1288 6567 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Complete implementation of copy_from_uspace() and copy_to_uspace()
for amd64 and ia32. Other architectures still compile and run,
but need to implement their own assembly-only memcpy(), memcpy_from_uspace(),
memcpy_to_uspace() and their failover parts. For these architectures
only dummy implementations are provided.

1196 6586 d 0 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Printf ported back from uspace to kernel.
Printf calls changed to match new conventions.

1044 6617 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Page table locking.
983 6618 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed shrinking of as area.
958 6619 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Nicer ia32 interrupt handlers and structures holding interrupted context data.
Unify the name holding interrupted context data on all architectures to be istate.

836 6647 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added support for 24-bit framebuffer.
831 6650 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make use of one unused bit in PTE formats of amd64, ia32 and mips32 to store 1 in valid mappings.
This helps to distinguish valid entries from not present entries with 0 content (i.e. not present
entries with PFN 0 and other bits cleared).

830 6650 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make ASID FIFO for mips32 be allocated statically.
Make ASID FIFO for sparc64 and ia64 be allocated dynamically.
Fix ia64 to call asid_fifo_init().
All three architectures now call asid_fifo_init() from as_arch_init().

815 6653 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix sparc64 and ia64 to work with the changed frame allocator.

Fix ppc32 to at least compile.

814 6653 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup o frame allocator.
Removed early_malloc & initial heap.
Will break ia64, ppc & sparc.
Added e820 table print.

793 6654 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Use hash_table_get_instance instead of list_get_instance.
Rename page_operations to page_mapping_operations.
Rename page_pt_operations to pt_mapping_operations.
Rename page_ht_operations to ht_mapping_operations.

765 6658 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add PAGE_WIDTH to aid divisions by PAGE_SIZE.
764 6658 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Tested basic non-cached slab allocation.
760 6659 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ mips32 is not supposed to allocate page table.
This is done by the generic code now.
Remove PTL0 pointer as it is not needed.

Remove GET_PTL0_ADDRESS from kernel.

Update sparc64 comments in barrier.h.

756 6660 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6661 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

730 6670 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Finalize ASID management for sparc64 and mips32 by making use of FIFO queue of ASIDs.
727 6672 d 15 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ New ASID management subsystem (initial work, more is required).
Some TLB invalidation changes.

724 6674 d 16 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Commit of the falloc_bad branch to trunk (719:723).
704 6678 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make various mips32 tlb manipulation functions preserve EntryHi register.

Cleanup and more precise comments for previous commit.

703 6679 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().

689 6683 d 20 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ Frame alloc test #1
687 6683 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Pass address space identifier to functions in page_operations to support single global page hash table.

684 6683 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Move generic 4-level page table interface to genarch
and enable architectures to use different virtual memory
mechanisms (e.g. page hash tables).
Start page hash table support.
Switch ia64 and sparc64 to page hash tables.
Other architectures keep on using 4-level page table interface.

623 6708 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add SPINLOCK_DECLARE and SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE macros.
SPINLOCK_DECLARE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
in dynamically allocated structures on which spinlock_initialize() is called after
their creation.
SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
of global spinlocks. It declares and initializes the spinlock.
Moreover, both macros are empty on UP so that -Wall warnings about unused structures
get supressed.

618 6709 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/src/mm/ Unify mips32 and sparc64 tlb_invalidate_all() semantics: do not invalidate locked/wired TLB entries.
612 6710 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/src/mm/ Weaken the assumption, that PageMask register contains the right mask everytime.
As a result, TLB exceptions will explicitly write this register when filling TLB entry.
Adjust tlb_print() on mips32 to print PageMask as well.

599 6711 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/ Fixes for mips32 invalidation functions.
598 6711 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/src/mm/ TLB invalidation functions for mips32. Not deployed yet. Not tested.
595 6712 d 17 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed bug in vm.c that turned off preemption. Found in versions 390:391.
594 6712 d 18 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ ptlb command (currently usable on mips32 only).
573 6713 d 18 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added MIPS ARC memory initializaiton.
569 6714 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ sparc64 work.
Implement functions for reading IMMU and DMMU TLBs.

548 6716 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup and fixes.
