4490 5454 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4230 5515 d 16 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ avoid deadlock while reclaiming slab memory
4048 5542 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ Fix non-debug build.
3973 5551 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3972 5551 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 1): proper support for zone flags
- the zone_t structures are now statically allocated to be easily available
- the locking scheme was simplified
- new flags for non-available zones were introduced
- FRAME_LOW_4_GiB flag is removed, the functionality will be eventually reimplemented using a generic mechanism

3208 5786 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ The real intention of the previous commit was to put the boundary
on 4 GiB, not 16 GiB.

3207 5786 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Introduce FRAME_LOW_16_GiB slab/frame allocator flag. When specified, the
allocators will not allocate memory above 16 GiB. Each architecture needs to
make sure not to merge zones from below and above 16 GiB. Allocations that
require memory below 16 GiB need to be altered to use this flag.

3206 5787 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Avoid deadlock during the 'zone n' kconsole command. Buddy allocator detail is
no longer printed because the effort to avoid the deadlock was simply not worth
it.

3205 5787 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ Fix deadlock in the 'zones' kconsole command.
3188 5799 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ Finer grained waiting for memory with consideration of the number
of available memory frames.

3187 5799 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ Get rid of the infamous "Sleep not implemented" panic during low memory
condition. Use a condition variable to implement the sleep. As of now, the
condition is rather coarse and can cause that threads may sleep unnecessarily.
Needs to be fine tuned and based on the amount of memory available.

3185 5800 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ cstyle for frame.c
3057 5820 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ proper printf formatting
2745 5917 d 6 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2725 5938 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2712 5943 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ prettyprint output
2133 6254 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ Coding style and indentation fixes.
2128 6296 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Add arm32 architecture. The 32 suffix is used to specify that 16-bit Thumb
instructions are not used. The arm32 code is mostly composed of placeholders
that need to be replaced by real implementation. So far, the arm32 tree
only compiles. If run under GXEmul simulator, an infinit loop at the
kernel entry point will be entered.

2123 6304 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/mm/ add forgotten unsigned
2122 6304 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ explicit typecast, fix signed/unsigned comparison
