3745 5613 d 3 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes (revs 3722 to 3744) into the sparc branch.
3742 5613 d 5 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ The sparc branch synchronized with trunk at revision 3722 (trunk@3722).
3665 5636 d 18 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into the sparc brach.
3664 5636 d 18 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Added some SunBlade 1500 stuff (part of it is just temporary - e.g. the new visual). Some small fixes and enhancements.
3618 5646 d 18 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Support for framebuffers, where the first pixel is mapped to a different address than the OBP 'reg' property claims. Cleanup, comments, C-style.
3593 5651 d 18 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into sparc branch.
3582 5657 d 7 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Made changes making HelenOS run on US-IV CPUs. Minor refactoring of the SGCN driver.
3343 5742 d 0 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
3240 5761 d 6 h decky / move unfinished ObjC support to a separate branch
3186 5798 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for active mutexes. Active mutexes implement busy waiting, pretty much
in the same way as spinlocks, but can be passed to condition variables, which is
the motivation for this enhancement.

3104 5816 d 9 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Declare arguments for memstr.h operations as pointers instead of uintptr_t.
3071 5819 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/ reflect changes in generic code
proper formatting directives
coding style

2745 5916 d 5 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2572 6061 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Remove duplicit implementation of strlen() in kernel, rename is_digit(),
is_white() and co. to their standard names (e.g. isdigit(), isspace()) and
remove duplicit implementation of isdigit(). Fix cstyle in kernel printf()
implementation.

2516 6086 d 20 h vana /trunk/kernel/ IA64 rest of neaded changes to work with simics keyboard
2510 6090 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

2505 6124 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/softint/ Minor cleanup of softint.
2465 6180 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Merge arm32 into trunk.
2441 6187 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/ fix ICC compilation
2321 6209 d 2 h decky /trunk/ keep mouse state in i8042_grab, unify keyboard and mouse IRQ handler
(this fixes ticket #12)

2222 6240 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/ map kernel pages explicitly as writable (this solves compatibility issues with Intel Core 2)
make VESA framebuffer initialization more robust

2170 6248 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Simplify synchronization in as_switch().
The function was oversynchronized, which
was causing deadlocks on the address
space mutex.

Now, address spaces can only be switched
when the asidlock is held. This also protects
stealing of ASIDs. No other synchronization
is necessary.

2141 6252 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2125 6296 d 21 h decky /trunk/ experimental support for Objective C
(disabled by default)

2106 6305 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Merge as_t structure into one and leave the differring parts in as_genarch_t.

Indentation and formatting changes in header files.

2102 6309 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2101 6309 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/ fix signed/unsigned comparison and integer overflow
2100 6309 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2089 6311 d 3 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2086 6313 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ Don't write to frame buffer memory, which is past the resolution.
This fixes Ticket #17

Coding style a formatting changes in the frame buffer code.

2071 6321 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2054 6349 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix important comment in kernel/arch/sparc64/src/proc/scheduler.c.

Improve framebuffer code.

Formatting and indentation fixes.

2015 6360 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

2007 6368 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce page colors. So far, only sparc64 uses correct page color bits. Other architectures have a dummy define
specifying zero bits for a page color.

There is a new check of page color in as_area_share(). Because of lack of support for this in the userspace, the
check has been #ifef'ed out.

1994 6378 d 3 h decky /trunk/ Add BGR 0888 visual for Ultra 60
1993 6378 d 4 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1991 6378 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ The prefered switch statement indentation is the one replaced by the previous commit :-)
1990 6379 d 1 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ framebuffer cleanup
1981 6382 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation, formatting and minor changes.
1974 6392 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/ofw/ Rewrite OFW device tree traversal algorithms to iterate over the list of peers rather than recurse on each
peer node. This saves us from big troubles with stack overflows.
