3770 5611 d 4 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Working on Niagara port - TLB initialization, MMU fault status area initialization, hypercall enhancement, modified tick.c so that the (hyperprivileged) TICK register does not have to be accessed. Now the initialization phase proceeds, but some parts of it are omitted for now (e.g. CPU initialization).
3745 5618 d 11 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes (revs 3722 to 3744) into the sparc branch.
3743 5618 d 12 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Started to implement support for sun4v. Bootloader adapted to autodetect the architecture (sun4u, sun4v). Some generic sparc64 kernel files split into sun4u and sun4v versions (but the sun4u is still the default in many cases - in order to keep the code compilable). Implemented taking over the MMU. Implemented routines for performing the hypervisor API calls. Implemented a trivial standard output driver. HelenOS banner can now be printed from the kernel on Niagara.
3665 5642 d 2 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into the sparc brach.
3664 5642 d 2 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Added some SunBlade 1500 stuff (part of it is just temporary - e.g. the new visual). Some small fixes and enhancements.

3593 5657 d 2 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into sparc branch.
3549 5670 d 2 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented uspace Serengeti drivers for kbd and fb. Integrated with other parts of HelenOS. Now it is possible to play Tetris on a simulated Serengeti machine (usiii.simics).
3514 5679 d 3 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Input support added to SGCN driver, connected to HelenOS kernel (uspace TBD), so that kconsole is usable.
3502 5680 d 3 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented Serengeti console driver (only output, input TBD), all output now goes to the console instead of Simics CLI window.
3467 5713 d 4 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ SMP and CPU initialiation modified to work even with Serengeti OFW tree layout; support for output to the Simics CLI console added (see my blog); some header files modified to conform US-III definition. Now HelenOS (on the sample configuration - usiii.simics) is able to run some userspace tasks.
3343 5747 d 8 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
2510 6096 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

1984 6386 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ sparc64 work:
- untested support for Psycho PCI controller

1921 6422 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Changes in ns16550 and z8530 drivers.
Add some stuff for IRQ notifications to irq_t.

1911 6430 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1910 6433 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rename INO to INR, for the sake of consistency with manuals.
1909 6434 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1897 6443 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6444 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1881 6454 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- find a CPU node and read its clock_frequency attribute
- implement asm_delay_loop()
- set TICK_COMPARE register according to processor frequency
- small improvements at random places

OpenFirmware work:
- two new functions for walking the device tree

Generic boot loader work:
- added basic string functions

Usual pile of indentation and formatting fixes.

1875 6459 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1860 6466 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A lot of untested sparc64 stuff:
- Write ASID to hardware when a thread is about to run in userspace.
- Add userspace() and switch_to_userspace() functions.
- Handle special cases when the userspace spill/fill handler causes MMU trap.
- Resolve some TODOs in the existing sparc64 code.
- sparc64 has now C99 compliant header guards.
- Formatting and indentation fixes.

1849 6480 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
interrupt_vector trap experimental handling.
Minimal reverse-engineered FireHose Controller driver (documentation needed!).
Keyboard on Sun Enterprise is now interrupt driven. Keyboard on Sun Ultra
is still polled.

1848 6486 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rework the z8530 driver so that it is based on z8530 specification rather
than on accidental and limited "compatibility" with i8042.

1844 6488 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add an option to compile the sparc64 kernel for Ultra 5 or Enterprise E6500.
Basic keyboard support (polling) based on ns16550 serial port (deployed on Ultra).

1842 6488 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ i8042 and z8530 separated, the tree compiles again.
Now there is some duplicated code in i8042.c and z8530.c,
but that can be eliminated in slower pace.

1841 6488 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.

1790 6515 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.
