3549 5675 d 4 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented uspace Serengeti drivers for kbd and fb. Integrated with other parts of HelenOS. Now it is possible to play Tetris on a simulated Serengeti machine (usiii.simics).
3502 5685 d 5 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented Serengeti console driver (only output, input TBD), all output now goes to the console instead of Simics CLI window.
3467 5718 d 6 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ SMP and CPU initialiation modified to work even with Serengeti OFW tree layout; support for output to the Simics CLI console added (see my blog); some header files modified to conform US-III definition. Now HelenOS (on the sample configuration - usiii.simics) is able to run some userspace tasks.
3398 5728 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ US used as a code for the UltraSPARC I-II subarchitecture instead of US2.
3397 5728 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged recent changes from trunk into the Sparc branch.
3365 5746 d 5 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Integrated US-III port into the build process; added script for downloading and patching SILO; added patched SILO binaries; modified sources of the Sparc64 port up to the beginning of the main_bsp_separated_stack function: phys. address size not hardwired but configurable (41 bits on US-II, 43 bits on US-III), WSTATE register implicitly written 0 on startup.
3343 5752 d 10 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
2725 5947 d 13 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2610 6029 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ Support for six syscall arguments for sparc64.
There is a minor stability issue which needs to be fixed (kernel panics upon entering kconsole from the
console task).

2462 6192 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Replace gcc-specific __FUNCTION__ with C99 __func__.
suncc's xregs=no%float can be used only on sparc64.

2460 6192 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Better infrastructure for building with different compilers.
Separate ICC_CFLAGS added, SUNCC_CFLAGS extended.

2454 6193 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A bit of infrastructure for building with different compilers.
CFLAGS split into GCC_CFLAGS and SUNCC_CFLAGS.
As of now, there are no separate ICC_CFLAGS, but can be easily added.

2141 6263 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2125 6307 d 7 h decky /trunk/ experimental support for Objective C
(disabled by default)

2071 6332 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2009 6376 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Initial support for handling illegal virtual aliases on sparc64.
2008 6378 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Add dcache_flush() function that flushes D-Cache on sparc64.
1911 6435 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1903 6444 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ SMP stuff for sparc64.
Almost complete except for IPIs.
The absence of IPI support deadlocks
the kernel when more CPUs are configured.

1897 6448 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6449 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1895 6451 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ More ofw_tree work and fixes.
Add ofw_tree_lookup().
Every ofw_tree_node now also contains a disambigued name which is essential for tree lookups.

1891 6453 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work:
- Experimental support for TSB (Translation Storage Buffer).

1889 6454 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix bug in mm/as.c:
- as_area_destroy() should not work with AS but as

sparc64 work:
- start implementing TSB support

1888 6457 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1882 6458 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for sparc64 FPU context.
1875 6464 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1865 6467 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 kernel fixes
1862 6470 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
Kernel syscall support.
Modify the preemptive_handler for the use by syscalls.

1854 6473 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Define architecture-specific thread sub-constructors and sub-destructors on all architectures.
Define the THREAD_FLAG_USPACE which means that the thread runs in user space.
The forementioned changes allow for allocating of user window buffer on sparc64
threads that execute in userspace.

A lot of formatting and indentation fixes.

1849 6485 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
interrupt_vector trap experimental handling.
Minimal reverse-engineered FireHose Controller driver (documentation needed!).
Keyboard on Sun Enterprise is now interrupt driven. Keyboard on Sun Ultra
is still polled.

1844 6493 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add an option to compile the sparc64 kernel for Ultra 5 or Enterprise E6500.
Basic keyboard support (polling) based on ns16550 serial port (deployed on Ultra).

1842 6493 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ i8042 and z8530 separated, the tree compiles again.
Now there is some duplicated code in i8042.c and z8530.c,
but that can be eliminated in slower pace.

1841 6493 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.

1838 6498 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add scan code map for Sun keyboard.
1802 6517 d 2 h decky /trunk/ cleanup and unify the build system
1790 6520 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1787 6522 d 9 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1777 6529 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make sparc64 kernel assume it is loaded by our loader.
1410 6570 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/ Modify sparc64 to choose optimal page size in each invocation of hw_map().
Use hw_map() to map keyboard device memory.
