2459 6189 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Fix a bug in ia32 and ia32xen Sun Studio builds.
In arch Makefile.inc, SUNCC_CFLAGS can only be appended via the += operator.

2458 6189 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/mips32/ Fix mips32 build script.
Replace CFLAGS with GCC_CFLAGS.

2457 6189 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32xen/src/smp/ Fix ia32xen so that it can be built.
2456 6190 d 0 h hudecek /branches/rcu/kernel/ Model use of RCU
2455 6190 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Some non-C files (e.g. .S and linker scripts) must be still "compiled" with gcc and GCC_CFLAGS.
2454 6190 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A bit of infrastructure for building with different compilers.
CFLAGS split into GCC_CFLAGS and SUNCC_CFLAGS.
As of now, there are no separate ICC_CFLAGS, but can be easily added.

2453 6190 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ More suncc fixes.
- remove more empty declarations
- add options to turn errors on empty structs into warnings and options to
silence these warnings

2452 6190 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ More suncc fixes.
- Removed extra semicolons after function declaration.
- Sun Studio recognizes only C99 __func__ and no gcc-specific __FUNCTION__.
In this case, a simple -D option can fix the problem.

2451 6191 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ JoinMe -> Lingering
2450 6192 d 3 h mencl /branches/rcu/kernel/ Repaired avl and extavl tree timeout unregister and delete_min. These
faults caused problems with initializing cpus and they appeared only in
multi processor systems.

2449 6193 d 13 h decky /trunk/uspace/rd/ remove unnecessary includes
2448 6194 d 5 h jermar /branches/arm/kernel/arch/arm32/src/cpu/ Start the CPU identification string with cpu[0-9].
2447 6194 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/main/ Split accidently joined lines.
2446 6194 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ More efficient and simpler task termination.

Based on the assumption, that after its creation, only the task itself can create more threads for itself,
the last thread with userspace context to execute thread_exit() will perform futex and IPC cleanup. When
the task has no threads, it is destroyed. Both the cleanup and destruction is controlled by reference
counting.

As for userspace threads, even though there could be a global garbage collector for joining threads, it is
much simpler if the uinit thread detaches itself before switching to userspace.

task_kill() is now an idempotent operation. It just instructs the threads within a task to exit.

Change in the name of a thread state: Undead -> JoinMe.

2445 6194 d 7 h decky /trunk/ initial merge of branches/fs
(not finished, huge cleanup is needed)

2444 6194 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ First fixes for suncc support.
It is going to be a long way...

2443 6194 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ sscc -> suncc
2442 6195 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Add dummy option for Sun Studio C Compiler.
For each architecture, offer only compilers that support the target.

2441 6195 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/ fix ICC compilation
2440 6195 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Fix the problem with sys_thread_create() by splitting the create and attach functionality of
thread_create(). Now it is possible to specify a flag that will cause thread_create() to only allocate and
initialize the thread structure. A call to thread_attach() will make the thread visible to the system.
This arrangement makes it easier to undo creation of a thread in case of a failure in sys_thread_create().
