3972 5647 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 1): proper support for zone flags
- the zone_t structures are now statically allocated to be easily available
- the locking scheme was simplified
- new flags for non-available zones were introduced
- FRAME_LOW_4_GiB flag is removed, the functionality will be eventually reimplemented using a generic mechanism

3208 5883 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ The real intention of the previous commit was to put the boundary
on 4 GiB, not 16 GiB.

3207 5883 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Introduce FRAME_LOW_16_GiB slab/frame allocator flag. When specified, the
allocators will not allocate memory above 16 GiB. Each architecture needs to
make sure not to merge zones from below and above 16 GiB. Allocations that
require memory below 16 GiB need to be altered to use this flag.

2725 6034 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2465 6277 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Merge arm32 into trunk.
2122 6400 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ explicit typecast, fix signed/unsigned comparison
2089 6408 d 10 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6419 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2059 6442 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Improve indentation and formatting.
2001 6469 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation and comment fixes.
1854 6560 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Define architecture-specific thread sub-constructors and sub-destructors on all architectures.
Define the THREAD_FLAG_USPACE which means that the thread runs in user space.
The forementioned changes allow for allocating of user window buffer on sparc64
threads that execute in userspace.

A lot of formatting and indentation fixes.

1787 6609 d 5 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6616 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1767 6624 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Remove unneeded FRAME_PANIC.
Fix some things broken by last commit.

1766 6624 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed frame_alloc call, cleaned a lot of stuff, fixed some not-perfectly-correct error handling.
1760 6627 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1702 6637 d 9 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1236 6685 d 11 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Add frame_reference_add().
1138 6715 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ CPU stacks must have two frames on ia64.
Make sure both thread stack frames are mapped in before_thread_runs_arch().
Take STACK_FRAMES into account during kernel memory layout initialization in main_bsp().

1063 6725 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Add support for more then 2GB of address space for AMD64.
