3947 5570 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ This is the evil commit. In particular, it does:

- introduces more powerful pseudo code for userspace IRQ top-half handlers
- changes the internals of IRQ dispatching
- simplifies the kernel's i8042 driver
- adapts the uspace i8042 driver to make use of the new pseudocode
- breaks all other architectures except ia32
- breaks almost all existing drivers
- breaks switching between uspace and kernel drivers

3941 5571 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Let IRQ claim methods take irq_t * instead of the instance argument.
3934 5572 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Improve the ns16550 driver.

- The driver support multiple instances.
- It still remembers the last registered IRQ in a global structure (cannot be
easily fixed now)
- Was converted to use PIO directly

3932 5572 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Kill arch/drivers/ega.h. Provide one-stop shopping
place for architectures with ia32 legacy I/O space.

3931 5572 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Improve the i8042 kernel driver (phase I).

- Convert the code to be instance-aware
- Still using hardcoded initialization from legacy IO address
- Use elegant i8042 register map for PIO

3928 5572 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Kill arch/drivers/i8042.h.
3927 5572 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Nuke i8042_poll().
3906 5576 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3877 5579 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/ remove (almost all) platform dependent code from drivers
3661 5653 d 19 h vana /trunk/ IA64: repair similators support
2516 6101 d 20 h vana /trunk/kernel/ IA64 rest of neaded changes to work with simics keyboard
2321 6224 d 2 h decky /trunk/ keep mouse state in i8042_grab, unify keyboard and mouse IRQ handler
(this fixes ticket #12)

2089 6326 d 4 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6336 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1957 6419 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: mouse support, mouse regrab is still broken
1956 6419 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: adopt new IRQ interface, mouse not tested yet
1896 6453 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1843 6498 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Move code duplicated in i8042.c and z8530.c to key.c.
1842 6498 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ i8042 and z8530 separated, the tree compiles again.
Now there is some duplicated code in i8042.c and z8530.c,
but that can be eliminated in slower pace.

1841 6498 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.
