4111 5561 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Update the SGCN driver to match the latest character I/O changes.
4071 5562 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Some additional fixes to the sgcn driver.
4070 5562 d 5 h rimsky /trunk/ SGCN driver modified to reflect the new keyboard driver architecture. Making the Serengeti bootable image smaller by not including some servers/applications.
4032 5568 d 3 h svoboda /trunk/ Init-task names for sparc64 (that's the final one, whew).
4021 5570 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ There is no need to define ioport{8,16,32}_t types for each architecture separately.
3973 5574 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3961 5579 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ Unbreak sparc64.
Due to the lack of userspace bus drivers for the z8530 and ns16550,
we are currently handling exactly one interrupt from these devices
in userspace.

3929 5582 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5583 d 23 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3908 5585 d 3 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5585 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3902 5586 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3880 5589 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3878 5589 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce fncptr_t and ioport_t on all platforms
3779 5628 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Only one kernel EGA driver to rule them all.
3740 5638 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Fix typo.
3736 5639 d 8 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ refresh kernel console during grab on sparc64
3722 5643 d 12 h rimsky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ SMC functions optimized for US3.
3672 5658 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Merge sparc branch to trunk.
3655 5664 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add additional members to the irq_t structure so that an interrupt-driven driver
does not need to know how to clear the level interrupt. The z8530 was modified
in this way and is much more generic. The ns16550 driver has also been modified,
but awaits testing. The sparc64 interrupt mapping and dispatch code is now using
the new info and calls the clear-interrupt-routine itself.
