2489 6209 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Allow HelenOS to be built by a native gcc on Solaris.
2488 6210 d 16 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/generic/ Improve comments in async.c
2486 6210 d 20 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/ Remove duplicit and empty time.h from libc.
Move timeval functions from async.c to time.c.

2485 6214 d 18 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/generic/ More fibril/psthread cleanup.
2484 6214 d 19 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/generic/ More psthread/fibril cleanup.
2483 6214 d 23 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/ Remove fibril_join().
We cannot guarantee our assumptions that easily.
This broken feature is removed instead of fixing because there are now users of it.

2482 6215 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ Goodbye pseudo threads, welcome fibrils.
The renaming might still be incomplete.

2481 6215 d 15 h jermar /trunk/uspace/lib/libc/ 1. Implement simple joining of pseudo threads. Only one pseudo thread is allowed to join another pseudo
thread. The restriction is that both pseudo threads must be from the same thread (this is to simplify
synchronization). The joiner doesn't free anything from the joinee. It only gets its return value. Not
tested thoroughly yet.

2. Cleanup of a dead pseudo thread is done by the next scheduled pseudo thread. Not tested thoroughly yet.

2480 6220 d 1 h jermar /trunk/uspace/ Remove dummy presenter.
2479 6220 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ New, better-structured, directory layout for uspace.
2478 6221 d 21 h jermar /trunk/uspace/rd/ Add sanity checks for reads and writes that occur past the end of the
ramdisk image.

2476 6222 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Cleanup.
2475 6222 d 18 h jermar /trunk/uspace/rd/ Improve the rd task (not tested):
- allow more connections
- support write operation
- support concurrent requests
- sanity checks
- add comments

Please review.

2471 6225 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Greatly improve comments in the IPC layer.
Now I think I finally start to understand our IPC internals :-)

2470 6229 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ Fix a double-free recently introduced in revision r2436.
Add a comment clarifying the life-cycle of the kernel_uarg structure.

Comment out the freeing of userspace thread stack while still running on it.
This should be fixed by implementing userspace version of thread_join().

2469 6229 d 18 h jermar /trunk/uspace/libc/generic/ Fix a bug in userspace thread_create() that confused success of the
syscall with failure.

2468 6229 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Remove some forgotten \r from arm32 files.
Formatting changes.
Add some correct BOOT_mips32_* guards.

2465 6234 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Merge arm32 into trunk.
2449 6241 d 5 h decky /trunk/uspace/rd/ remove unnecessary includes
2445 6242 d 0 h decky /trunk/ initial merge of branches/fs
(not finished, huge cleanup is needed)

2443 6242 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ sscc -> suncc
2442 6242 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Add dummy option for Sun Studio C Compiler.
For each architecture, offer only compilers that support the target.

2438 6242 d 17 h decky /trunk/ update for new compiler configuration scheme
2436 6243 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Fix two memory leaks.

In kernel, kernel_uarg structure needs to be deallocated when a thread
with userspace context is destroyed.

In userspace, the return value of the SYS_THREAD_CREATE must be checked
for error conditions and in case of error, uarg and stack must be freed
up.

2359 6256 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Improve comments for the IPC subsystem.
Fix formatting and indentation.

2321 6263 d 23 h decky /trunk/ keep mouse state in i8042_grab, unify keyboard and mouse IRQ handler
(this fixes ticket #12)

2301 6270 d 0 h decky /trunk/uspace/fb/ copy proper portion of viewport on screen border
(fixes ticket #34)

2230 6294 d 22 h jermar /trunk/uspace/ Remove printf() serialization from thread1 test in tester.
The agreement among developers seems to be that:
- there _must_ be a futex to serialize access to printf()
- there _must_ be pseudo thread serialization in printf()
- the best place for this is vprintf(), the one that goes to console

2229 6295 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Revert some of the changes introduced in revision 2209.
I think it is not correct to remove serialization of pseudo threads in printf_core.c.
With thread-level futex serialization, several pseudo threads running in one thread could easily deadlock
the task.

Add a dedicated futex serialization to thread1.c test only.

2216 6296 d 18 h decky /trunk/ make thread ID 64 bit (task ID is 64 bit already)
cleanup thread syscalls

2210 6296 d 20 h decky /trunk/ use more useful values
2209 6296 d 20 h decky /trunk/uspace/ use futex instead of pthread serialization
synchronize only output to stdout
cleanup

2193 6298 d 0 h decky /trunk/uspace/tester/ reimplement all tests from original ipcc
(cleanup needed)

2192 6298 d 0 h decky /trunk/uspace/libc/arch/sparc64/include/ fix uspace atomic_add according kernel code
2188 6298 d 0 h decky /trunk/ new user space testing framework (unfinished)
2186 6298 d 2 h decky /trunk/uspace/tester/ rename ipcc.c to tester.c
2185 6298 d 2 h decky /trunk/ rename ipcc to tester
2141 6307 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2128 6350 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Add arm32 architecture. The 32 suffix is used to specify that 16-bit Thumb
instructions are not used. The arm32 code is mostly composed of placeholders
that need to be replaced by real implementation. So far, the arm32 tree
only compiles. If run under GXEmul simulator, an infinit loop at the
kernel entry point will be entered.

2107 6359 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ When clock() is called by an external interrupt dispatched by the IRQ dispatcher,
no spinlock can be held or the kernel will not be preemptive. This fixes Ticket #24.

Formating and indentation fixes.
