2185 6316 d 7 h decky /trunk/ rename ipcc to tester
2184 6316 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/lib/ add zetta (sextillion) prefix
make constants explicitly unsigned

2141 6325 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2127 6369 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/lib/ add forgotten implementation
2126 6369 d 20 h decky /trunk/kernel/ small cleanup, more work coming
2125 6369 d 23 h decky /trunk/ experimental support for Objective C
(disabled by default)

2104 6382 d 8 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/lib/ more fine order of magnitude display
2089 6384 d 6 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6394 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2063 6409 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/lib/ Call big endian byte swap function instead of little endian.
2062 6409 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/lib/ switch statement coding style fixes.
2050 6424 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/ benchmarking with statistics (initial)
2015 6433 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

2005 6443 d 3 h decky /trunk/ update rd
2002 6443 d 5 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ rd work
2000 6445 d 8 h decky /trunk/kernel/ move files to more proper locations
1896 6511 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1787 6585 d 1 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6592 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1757 6606 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
1708 6610 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix some broken doxygen comments.
1702 6613 d 5 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1612 6620 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/src/lib/ Generic version of memcpy that is resistent towards unaligned memory accesses.
1425 6629 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Make address space backend data a union.
1424 6630 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Move the sharing functionality to address space area backends.
Add backend for continuous regions of physical memory.
Sharing for these areas works automagically now.

1423 6630 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Update page fault handlers to distinguish between different access modes that had caused the page fault.
1411 6633 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify the hierarchy of page fault handlers to pass access mode that caused the fault.
Architectures are required to pass either PF_ACCESS_READ, PF_ACCESS_WRITE or PF_ACCESS_EXEC
to as_page_fault(), depending on the cause of the fault.

1409 6633 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Some shared memory stuff (not completed).
Support for address space area backends.
Add ELF and anonymous memory backends.

1264 6656 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Improve Doxygen-comments.
1248 6660 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add some @file doxygen comments and improve already existing comments.
1239 6661 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Prevent race in as_area_send() by allowing the address space area to be
created with AS_AREA_ATTR_PARTIAL attribute.

1196 6671 d 6 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Printf ported back from uspace to kernel.
Printf calls changed to match new conventions.

1100 6697 d 22 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of spinlocks, now compiles both ia32 and amd64 with
and without DEBUG_SPINLOCKS. Made spinlocks inline.
Moved syscall_handler to generic (it was identical for ia32,amd64 & mips32).
Made slightly faster syscall for ia32.
Made better interrupt routines for ia32.
Allow not saving non-scratch registers during interrupt on ia32,amd64,mips32.
Aligned interrupt handlers on ia32,amd64, this should prevent problems
with different instruction lengths.

1070 6701 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ More checks for address space area conflicts.
1048 6702 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Restore interrupts when failing in as_remap().
Add check_area_conflicts() that checks whether address area overlaps with other areas.
Refuse to create writeable executable address space areas.
Rename as_area_t::size to as_area_t::pages.

ia64, amd64, ia32 working.
mips32 requires some attention.
