3362 5829 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Fix processing of answers to forwarded masqueraded calls.
3186 5891 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for active mutexes. Active mutexes implement busy waiting, pretty much
in the same way as spinlocks, but can be passed to condition variables, which is
the motivation for this enhancement.

3184 5892 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Fix a scary two-year old bug: do not attempt to initialize a call structure if
its allocation failed.

3104 5908 d 14 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Declare arguments for memstr.h operations as pointers instead of uintptr_t.
3090 5911 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ revert coding style change
3054 5911 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ proper printf formatting
3020 5917 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Turn phone->lock into mutex.
2802 5970 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Fix initialization of answerbox->task in ipc_answerbox_init.
Contributed by Jiri Svoboda.

2662 6074 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC_M_DATA_READ calls.
2637 6093 d 1 h cejka /trunk/ Extended IPC_M_CONNECT_TO_ME to use 3 user defined parameters.
Phone identifier is passed in ARG5.

2623 6103 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Introduce the IPC_FF_ROUTE_FROM_ME forwarding flag.
2622 6103 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ Add mode argument to IPC forward.
This argument can be used to modify the way forward behaves.

2601 6116 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Fix and improve two IPC related comments.
2494 6239 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Implement a new mechanism for copying data between two address spaces based on
IPC. New system method IPC_M_DATA_SEND is introduced. The implementation is
generic and does not make use of any possible architecture optimizations such as
direct copy from one address space to another.

2472 6263 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Some left-over stuff from the last commit (IPC cleanup and improved
comments.)

2471 6263 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Greatly improve comments in the IPC layer.
Now I think I finally start to understand our IPC internals :-)

2310 6304 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Cleanup the waitq_wakeup() interface.
Replace numeric constants (i.e. 0)
and boolean constants (i.e. false) with
more readable WAKEUP_FIRST. Also change the
type of the second argument of waitq_wakeup()
to a newly introduced type wakeup_mode_t.

Fix behaviour of waitq_wakeup() in case
that WAKEUP_ALL semantics is required
but no threads are sleeping in the wait
queue. This is a similar fix to that of
Jan Hudecek committed in the RCU branch,
but, IMHO, is more straightforward and
also doesn't eat up previous missed
wakeups.

2216 6334 d 1 h decky /trunk/ make thread ID 64 bit (task ID is 64 bit already)
cleanup thread syscalls

2183 6336 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Continue to de-oversynchronize the kernel.
- replace as->refcount with an atomic counter; accesses to this
reference counter are not to be done when the as->lock mutex is held;
this gets us rid of mutex_lock_active();

Remove the possibility of a deadlock between TLB shootdown and asidlock.
- get rid of mutex_lock_active() on as->lock
- when locking the asidlock spinlock, always do it conditionally and with
preemption disabled; in the unsuccessful case, enable interrupts and try again
- there should be no deadlock between TLB shootdown and the as->lock mutexes
- PLEASE REVIEW !!!

Add DEADLOCK_PROBE's to places where we have spinlock_trylock() loops.

2071 6414 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1933 6506 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Implement efficient IPC notification cleanup.
1923 6507 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ Replace the old IRQ dispatcher and IPC notifier with new implementation.
Note that all architectures except for sparc64 are now broken
and don't even compile.

1787 6604 d 3 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6611 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1757 6625 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
1735 6627 d 11 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1708 6629 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix some broken doxygen comments.
1705 6631 d 10 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1702 6632 d 7 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1595 6639 d 14 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1591 6639 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Small updates to ipc.
1582 6640 d 11 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Modified ipc_cleanup.
1573 6641 d 4 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Renamed some things in IPC to be consistent.
Added ipc reporting to kconsole.

1568 6641 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Slightly remodelled ipc hangups to facilitate correct cleanup.
Doc updates for frame allocator.

1502 6643 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace nonblocking argument of waitq_sleep_timeout with flags that specify mode of operation.
Now a flag can be used to specify interruptible sleep.
Modify waitq_interrupt_sleep() to only interrupt threads that used this flag.
O

1364 6659 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Modify ipc_wait_for_call() to support all of blocking, non-blocking and timeout operation.
1342 6660 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Improve comments.
1281 6674 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added means to make a simple action upon interrupt.
1260 6676 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Small fixes.
1258 6676 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added support for IRQ notifiactions.
- seems to work correctly on ia32, amd64
- the mips kbd probably lowers interrupts when the char is read from
the port, we will have to find a way how to deal with it.
