3370 5823 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Synchronous IPC must be interruptible.
3363 5826 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Demasquerade the caller phone during ipc_answer_n() rather than in
ipc_wait_for_call().

3362 5826 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Fix processing of answers to forwarded masqueraded calls.
3186 5888 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for active mutexes. Active mutexes implement busy waiting, pretty much
in the same way as spinlocks, but can be passed to condition variables, which is
the motivation for this enhancement.

3184 5889 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Fix a scary two-year old bug: do not attempt to initialize a call structure if
its allocation failed.

3104 5905 d 13 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Declare arguments for memstr.h operations as pointers instead of uintptr_t.
3090 5908 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ revert coding style change
3054 5908 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ proper printf formatting
3020 5914 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Turn phone->lock into mutex.
2802 5967 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Fix initialization of answerbox->task in ipc_answerbox_init.
Contributed by Jiri Svoboda.

2662 6071 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC_M_DATA_READ calls.
2637 6090 d 1 h cejka /trunk/ Extended IPC_M_CONNECT_TO_ME to use 3 user defined parameters.
Phone identifier is passed in ARG5.

2623 6100 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Introduce the IPC_FF_ROUTE_FROM_ME forwarding flag.
2622 6100 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ Add mode argument to IPC forward.
This argument can be used to modify the way forward behaves.

2601 6113 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Fix and improve two IPC related comments.
2494 6236 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Implement a new mechanism for copying data between two address spaces based on
IPC. New system method IPC_M_DATA_SEND is introduced. The implementation is
generic and does not make use of any possible architecture optimizations such as
direct copy from one address space to another.

2472 6260 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Some left-over stuff from the last commit (IPC cleanup and improved
comments.)

2471 6260 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ Greatly improve comments in the IPC layer.
Now I think I finally start to understand our IPC internals :-)

2310 6301 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Cleanup the waitq_wakeup() interface.
Replace numeric constants (i.e. 0)
and boolean constants (i.e. false) with
more readable WAKEUP_FIRST. Also change the
type of the second argument of waitq_wakeup()
to a newly introduced type wakeup_mode_t.

Fix behaviour of waitq_wakeup() in case
that WAKEUP_ALL semantics is required
but no threads are sleeping in the wait
queue. This is a similar fix to that of
Jan Hudecek committed in the RCU branch,
but, IMHO, is more straightforward and
also doesn't eat up previous missed
wakeups.

2216 6331 d 1 h decky /trunk/ make thread ID 64 bit (task ID is 64 bit already)
cleanup thread syscalls

2183 6333 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Continue to de-oversynchronize the kernel.
- replace as->refcount with an atomic counter; accesses to this
reference counter are not to be done when the as->lock mutex is held;
this gets us rid of mutex_lock_active();

Remove the possibility of a deadlock between TLB shootdown and asidlock.
- get rid of mutex_lock_active() on as->lock
- when locking the asidlock spinlock, always do it conditionally and with
preemption disabled; in the unsuccessful case, enable interrupts and try again
- there should be no deadlock between TLB shootdown and the as->lock mutexes
- PLEASE REVIEW !!!

Add DEADLOCK_PROBE's to places where we have spinlock_trylock() loops.

2071 6411 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1933 6503 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Implement efficient IPC notification cleanup.
1923 6504 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Replace the old IRQ dispatcher and IPC notifier with new implementation.
Note that all architectures except for sparc64 are now broken
and don't even compile.

1787 6601 d 2 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6608 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1757 6622 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
1735 6624 d 10 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1708 6626 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix some broken doxygen comments.
1705 6628 d 9 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1702 6629 d 6 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1595 6636 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1591 6636 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Small updates to ipc.

1502 6640 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace nonblocking argument of waitq_sleep_timeout with flags that specify mode of operation.

Modify waitq_interrupt_sleep() to only interrupt threads that used this flag.
O
