3941 5629 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Let IRQ claim methods take irq_t * instead of the instance argument.
3938 5630 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Embed the ns16550 irq structure into the ns16550 instance structure.
3934 5630 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Improve the ns16550 driver.

- The driver support multiple instances.
- It still remembers the last registered IRQ in a global structure (cannot be
easily fixed now)
- Was converted to use PIO directly

3932 5630 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Kill arch/drivers/ega.h. Provide one-stop shopping
place for architectures with ia32 legacy I/O space.

3931 5630 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Improve the i8042 kernel driver (phase I).

- Convert the code to be instance-aware
- Still using hardcoded initialization from legacy IO address
- Use elegant i8042 register map for PIO

3928 5630 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Kill arch/drivers/i8042.h.
3927 5630 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Nuke i8042_poll().
3906 5634 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3900 5635 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_NS16550_INTERRUPT_DRIVEN and CONFIG_I8042_INTERRUPT_DRIVEN.
3877 5637 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/ remove (almost all) platform dependent code from drivers
3714 5695 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/ do not waist resources if no keyboard driver is used
3661 5711 d 19 h vana /trunk/ IA64: repair similators support
3657 5712 d 4 h vana /trunk/ Legacy IRQ support, uspace NS16550 support, some minor changes
3655 5712 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add additional members to the irq_t structure so that an interrupt-driven driver
does not need to know how to clear the level interrupt. The z8530 was modified
in this way and is much more generic. The ns16550 driver has also been modified,
but awaits testing. The sparc64 interrupt mapping and dispatch code is now using
the new info and calls the clear-interrupt-routine itself.

3646 5713 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Initial support for interrupt driven driver for ns16550.
3581 5730 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Some cstyle.
3577 5731 d 9 h vana /trunk/kernel/ Support for serial port console on IA64 as a compensation for keyboard - based on SPARC ns16550 driver
2572 6134 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Remove duplicit implementation of strlen() in kernel, rename is_digit(),
is_white() and co. to their standard names (e.g. isdigit(), isspace()) and
remove duplicit implementation of isdigit(). Fix cstyle in kernel printf()
implementation.

2516 6159 d 20 h vana /trunk/kernel/ IA64 rest of neaded changes to work with simics keyboard
2321 6282 d 2 h decky /trunk/ keep mouse state in i8042_grab, unify keyboard and mouse IRQ handler
(this fixes ticket #12)

2089 6384 d 3 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6394 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1957 6477 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: mouse support, mouse regrab is still broken
1956 6477 d 5 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: adopt new IRQ interface, mouse not tested yet
1944 6484 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add mutual exclusion to keyboard grab and release
functions on sparc64, ppc32, mips32 and ia64.

1932 6486 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Do not copy notification config out of the IRQ structure.
Add the notify member, that toggles notifications on and off instead.
This is good for preventing other tasks from registering the notification
while the notification config is stored outside the IRQ structure.
It should also help to implement the cleanup code.

1931 6486 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC notifications even for polled ns16550 based keyboard.
1925 6487 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/kbd/ Support for grabbing and releasing z8530 keyboard for sparc64.
We might later add some locking.

1923 6487 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Replace the old IRQ dispatcher and IPC notifier with new implementation.
Note that all architectures except for sparc64 are now broken
and don't even compile.

1921 6489 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Changes in ns16550 and z8530 drivers.
Add some stuff for IRQ notifications to irq_t.

1920 6490 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Move the new IRQ redirector to ddi/.
Add function for assigning unique device numbers.
Change sparc64/drivers/kbd.c to assign devno to keyboard.

1919 6490 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Prototypical implementation of new IRQ redirector in sparc64.
The new code can support shared IRQs in kernel (and multiple IRQs per device).
Userspace support is yet to be written.
The only architecture that uses this code is actually sparc64 only.

1911 6497 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1909 6501 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1896 6511 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1888 6520 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1880 6523 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Small improvements here and there.
1875 6526 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1849 6548 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
interrupt_vector trap experimental handling.
Minimal reverse-engineered FireHose Controller driver (documentation needed!).
Keyboard on Sun Enterprise is now interrupt driven. Keyboard on Sun Ultra
is still polled.

1848 6554 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rework the z8530 driver so that it is based on z8530 specification rather
than on accidental and limited "compatibility" with i8042.
