3961 5734 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ Unbreak sparc64.
Due to the lack of userspace bus drivers for the z8530 and ns16550,
we are currently handling exactly one interrupt from these devices
in userspace.

3941 5736 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Let IRQ claim methods take irq_t * instead of the instance argument.
3940 5736 d 13 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make hw_area API more generic
this allows mapping of EGA VRAM on ia32/amd64

3935 5737 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/drivers/ Fix sparc64 build.
3929 5737 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5739 d 7 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3908 5740 d 11 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5741 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3902 5741 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3900 5741 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_NS16550_INTERRUPT_DRIVEN and CONFIG_I8042_INTERRUPT_DRIVEN.
3880 5744 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3879 5744 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration in Makefiles
3878 5744 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce fncptr_t and ioport_t on all platforms
3865 5748 d 8 h rimsky /trunk/ Allow to suppress compilation of FB code on Sparc machines that do not have FB.
3852 5755 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/drivers/ Fix sparc64 build.
3844 5756 d 9 h decky /trunk/ silent kernel console output when user space console is active
3790 5779 d 18 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make newlines in panic messages consistent. Add periods at end of messages so that it is obvious whether they are printed entirely.
3788 5780 d 7 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Unify newlines in fault_if_from_uspace() format strings. (Remove them and print newline automatically). Also start messages with caps.
3779 5783 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Only one kernel EGA driver to rule them all.
3749 5792 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/trap/ Support for preemptible syscalls on sparc64.
3740 5793 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Fix typo.
3736 5794 d 16 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ refresh kernel console during grab on sparc64
3722 5798 d 20 h rimsky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ SMC functions optimized for US3.
3714 5801 d 14 h decky /trunk/kernel/ do not waist resources if no keyboard driver is used
3679 5812 d 5 h rimsky /trunk/ Added forgotten stuff related to framebuffers with offsets. Got rid of VISUAL_SB1500_PALETTE.
3672 5813 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Merge sparc branch to trunk.
3655 5819 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add additional members to the irq_t structure so that an interrupt-driven driver
does not need to know how to clear the level interrupt. The z8530 was modified
in this way and is much more generic. The ns16550 driver has also been modified,
but awaits testing. The sparc64 interrupt mapping and dispatch code is now using
the new info and calls the clear-interrupt-routine itself.

3654 5819 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ After my effort yesterday, there are two rival psycho drivers.
Merge the two and remove the newer one.

3649 5820 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/drivers/ More work on the psycho driver.
3647 5820 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Improvized Psycho driver.
3646 5820 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Initial support for interrupt driven driver for ns16550.
3580 5837 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Accesses to memory mapped registers should use volatile pointers so that
the compiler doesn't even think of trying to be clever. Add memory barriers
and fixed cstyle.

3577 5837 d 22 h vana /trunk/kernel/ Support for serial port console on IA64 as a compensation for keyboard - based on SPARC ns16550 driver
3482 5877 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Do not allocate full page for the uspace window buffer.
Instead, allocate only the bare minimum to fit NWINDOWS - 1
uspace windows and to satisfy alignment requirements.

3463 5889 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Populate all sparc64 trap table slots belonging to trap_instruction_n.
3458 5890 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/trap/ Add sparc64 trap table entries so that the maximum syscall number is 0x40.
3379 5909 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Add the missing preemption_disable() call to sparc64 atomic_lock_arch().
Thanks to Pavel Rimsky for noticing this.

3368 5913 d 14 h decky /trunk/ configurable cross-compiler prefix (using CROSS_PREFIX)
3274 5930 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ memcpy(), memmove() and similar functions return dst instead of src.
Fix all implementations, including those in assembly. ppc32 assembly
version didn't seem to be affected by this.

3233 5944 d 15 h decky /trunk/ remove dummy page coloring facility, which is currenty not used
