4071 5593 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Some additional fixes to the sgcn driver.
4070 5593 d 15 h rimsky /trunk/ SGCN driver modified to reflect the new keyboard driver architecture. Making the Serengeti bootable image smaller by not including some servers/applications.
3961 5610 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Unbreak sparc64.
Due to the lack of userspace bus drivers for the z8530 and ns16550,
we are currently handling exactly one interrupt from these devices
in userspace.

3880 5620 d 13 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3740 5669 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Fix typo.
3736 5670 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ refresh kernel console during grab on sparc64
3672 5689 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ Merge sparc branch to trunk.
3655 5695 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add additional members to the irq_t structure so that an interrupt-driven driver
does not need to know how to clear the level interrupt. The z8530 was modified
in this way and is much more generic. The ns16550 driver has also been modified,
but awaits testing. The sparc64 interrupt mapping and dispatch code is now using
the new info and calls the clear-interrupt-routine itself.

3654 5695 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ After my effort yesterday, there are two rival psycho drivers.
Merge the two and remove the newer one.

3647 5696 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Improvized Psycho driver.
3577 5714 d 1 h vana /trunk/kernel/ Support for serial port console on IA64 as a compensation for keyboard - based on SPARC ns16550 driver
2510 6146 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

2089 6366 d 19 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6377 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1984 6436 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ sparc64 work:
- untested support for Psycho PCI controller

1921 6472 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Changes in ns16550 and z8530 drivers.
Add some stuff for IRQ notifications to irq_t.

1911 6480 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1910 6483 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rename INO to INR, for the sake of consistency with manuals.
1909 6484 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1897 6493 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6494 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1881 6504 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- find a CPU node and read its clock_frequency attribute
- implement asm_delay_loop()
- set TICK_COMPARE register according to processor frequency
- small improvements at random places

OpenFirmware work:
- two new functions for walking the device tree

Generic boot loader work:
- added basic string functions

Usual pile of indentation and formatting fixes.

1875 6509 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1860 6516 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A lot of untested sparc64 stuff:
- Write ASID to hardware when a thread is about to run in userspace.
- Add userspace() and switch_to_userspace() functions.
- Handle special cases when the userspace spill/fill handler causes MMU trap.
- Resolve some TODOs in the existing sparc64 code.
- sparc64 has now C99 compliant header guards.
- Formatting and indentation fixes.

1849 6530 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
interrupt_vector trap experimental handling.
Minimal reverse-engineered FireHose Controller driver (documentation needed!).
Keyboard on Sun Enterprise is now interrupt driven. Keyboard on Sun Ultra
is still polled.

1848 6536 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rework the z8530 driver so that it is based on z8530 specification rather
than on accidental and limited "compatibility" with i8042.

1844 6538 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add an option to compile the sparc64 kernel for Ultra 5 or Enterprise E6500.
Basic keyboard support (polling) based on ns16550 serial port (deployed on Ultra).

1842 6538 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ i8042 and z8530 separated, the tree compiles again.
Now there is some duplicated code in i8042.c and z8530.c,
but that can be eliminated in slower pace.

1841 6538 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.

1790 6565 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1787 6567 d 14 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1784 6568 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Sync OpenFirmware functionality with boot.
Random cleanup.

1780 6574 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1702 6595 d 18 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1410 6615 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/ Modify sparc64 to choose optimal page size in each invocation of hw_map().
Use hw_map() to map keyboard device memory.

1377 6620 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/include/drivers/ Remove unneeded macro.
958 6687 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Nicer ia32 interrupt handlers and structures holding interrupted context data.
Unify the name holding interrupted context data on all architectures to be istate.

897 6701 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ sparc64 work.
Fix KBD_VIRT_ADDRESS.
Call before_thread_runs() prior to the switch to the thread's stack. Add comment why this is crucial.
Add after_thread_ran() to the scheduler.
Add before_thread_runs_arch() and after_thread_ran_arch() for sparc64, mapping/demapping thread's kernel stack.
Add dummy after_thread_ran_arch() to all other architectures.
Add dtlb_insert_mapping() to promote code reuse.

895 6701 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ sparc64 work.
Very raw and fragile preliminary standalone keyboard support - polling mode only.
Because of a workaround in Simics, the scan codes are the same as on ia32.

894 6701 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Move i8042 driver to genarch as it might be used by more architectures.
