3930 5622 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Adapt most of the kernel to ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t types.
3929 5622 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3928 5622 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Kill arch/drivers/i8042.h.
3908 5625 d 23 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5626 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3903 5627 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/include/ Fix ia32 build for Pentium 3 systems.
3902 5627 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3892 5627 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_DEBUG_AS_WATCHPOINT.
3891 5627 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_SIMICS_FIX.
3890 5627 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Get rid of CONFIG_DEBUG_ALLREGS.
3889 5628 d 3 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/include/drivers/ Make ia32/amd64 compile again. This is mostly a hack, but a more drastic cleanup is needed to do it the right way.
3880 5629 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3879 5629 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration in Makefiles
3878 5629 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce fncptr_t and ioport_t on all platforms
3802 5654 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ fallback to VGA registers if VESA routine fails
3800 5654 d 22 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify compile options
3790 5665 d 6 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make newlines in panic messages consistent. Add periods at end of messages so that it is obvious whether they are printed entirely.
3788 5665 d 19 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Unify newlines in fault_if_from_uspace() format strings. (Remove them and print newline automatically). Also start messages with caps.
3779 5669 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Only one kernel EGA driver to rule them all.
3751 5677 d 7 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ Revive kernel EGA fb driver. Plus fix bug -- was using memcpy() for scrolling instead of memmove().
3709 5687 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/ invert VGA 3:2:3 palette to reflect changes in revision 3692
3707 5687 d 23 h decky /trunk/ kconsole is optional
kernel & uspace framebuffer rewrite with speedups (some things are slightly broken yet)

3706 5687 d 23 h decky /trunk/ cstyle & small fixes
3672 5698 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Merge sparc branch to trunk.
3631 5709 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/src/ The IA-32 manual is very secretive about the fact that the SYSENTER instruction
disables interrupts (I found only one evidence of this in the instruction's
pseudo code). The sysenter_handler needs to reenable the interrupts in order to
preserve the preemptive nature of the kernel.

3485 5759 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Support for SYSENTER on ia32.
3381 5794 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/include/ Prevent 'tmp' in ia32's atomic_lock_arch() from being allocated
to the same register as 'val->count'.

3369 5799 d 1 h decky /trunk/ configurable cross-compiler prefix (using CROSS_PREFIX)
3274 5816 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ memcpy(), memmove() and similar functions return dst instead of src.
Fix all implementations, including those in assembly. ppc32 assembly
version didn't seem to be affected by this.

3240 5826 d 8 h decky / move unfinished ObjC support to a separate branch
3234 5830 d 3 h decky /trunk/ reintroduce support for MSIM text console in user space
3233 5830 d 3 h decky /trunk/ remove dummy page coloring facility, which is currenty not used
3227 5830 d 23 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ remove unnecessary newline
3226 5831 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/ fix no-mmx option
3222 5849 d 2 h svoboda /trunk/ Merge program-loader related stuff from dynload branch to trunk. (huge)
3209 5850 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/src/smp/ Allocate AP's GDT from first 4 GiB.
3179 5867 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce the notion of FPU_NO_CFLAGS and separate building of test/fpu
objects and building the rest of kernel objects. Now, amd64 and ia32 can
enable things such as SSE selectively for the test/fpu/*.

3173 5868 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/ Don't build the ia32 kernel with MMX/SSE/3DNOW enabled. This was causing
problems with gcc 4.3.1 which generated MMX aided code in a context that
didn't allow this.

3164 5870 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ First argument of atomic functions is read-write (ia32).
3134 5873 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Add smc_coherence_block().
