765 6824 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add PAGE_WIDTH to aid divisions by PAGE_SIZE.
764 6824 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Tested basic non-cached slab allocation.
763 6824 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify frame.h to use shifting instead of multiplication and division.
Define FRAME_WIDTH for all architectures.

762 6824 d 9 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Currently not-working SLAB allocator.
- slightly changed interface to frame_alloc, allow zone preference

759 6824 d 22 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Skeleton of SLAB allocator.
757 6825 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Blacklist addresses between 0xa0000 and 0xfffff on ia64 for frame allocator.
This area contains VGA text frame buffer and should be avoided.
falloc2 test now passes on ia64.

756 6825 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6826 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

754 6827 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Remove address space area mapping array.
The information is to be stored directly in page tables.
This is to better support 64-bit systems which can have
fairly large address space areas.

740 6833 d 9 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ ia64 ASID management code (not tested).
735 6835 d 7 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ Fixes, comments, tests to frame allocator
727 6838 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ New ASID management subsystem (initial work, more is required).
Some TLB invalidation changes.

724 6840 d 3 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Commit of the falloc_bad branch to trunk (719:723).
718 6842 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/ interface change: as_area_load_mapping -> as_area_set_mapping (set single page mapping)
map init directly from the physical frames it is loaded in

717 6842 d 5 h decky /kernel/trunk/ remove obsolete in-kernel userspace code
remove CONFIG_USERSPACE switch, uspace support is configured at run-time

714 6842 d 6 h decky /kernel/trunk/ syscall handler return value
uspace task termination (primitive)

712 6842 d 7 h decky /kernel/trunk/ "Hello world" from user space :)
711 6842 d 7 h decky /kernel/trunk/generic/src/mm/ fix wrong frame memory access
704 6844 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make various mips32 tlb manipulation functions preserve EntryHi register.

Cleanup and more precise comments for previous commit.

703 6844 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().

701 6847 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/src/mm/ Fix zone_print_one() and zone_print_list().
- add missing spinlock_unlock()
- add missing interrupts_disable() and interrupts_restore()
Coding style fixes and cleanup.

699 6847 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Proto-interface and dummy implementation of generic page hash table subsytem.

689 6849 d 7 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ Frame alloc test #1
687 6849 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Pass address space identifier to functions in page_operations to support single global page hash table.

686 6849 d 8 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/ Minor changes to 'zone' command
684 6849 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Move generic 4-level page table interface to genarch
and enable architectures to use different virtual memory
mechanisms (e.g. page hash tables).
Start page hash table support.
Switch ia64 and sparc64 to page hash tables.
Other architectures keep on using 4-level page table interface.

683 6849 d 9 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/ Console command 'zone' now takes zone address as parameter.
Added buddy system statistics into the 'zone' command.

678 6853 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/ move syscall infrastructure to a separate subdir
677 6853 d 5 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/src/ Comments to zone console commands
676 6853 d 5 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/ Memory zones console command implementation. todo: buddy allocator structures.

674 6853 d 12 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Support for printing float numbers in kernel removed.
673 6854 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add 'version' and 'cpus' kconsole commands.

659 6866 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make the kernel compile with -Wall.
654 6868 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/src/ Fix page_insert_mapping().
Some architectures (e.g. ia32) need to have the lower-numbered PTL's flagged as PAGE_WRITE in order to prevent overriding protection bits of leaf TTE's.
