682 6784 d 7 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/mm/ fix ia32 build
680 6787 d 23 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/ remove deprecated pre-grub stuff on ia32
prepare for the same on amd64

674 6788 d 9 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Support for printing float numbers in kernel removed.
672 6789 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/ ia32 work.
Initialize LDR and DFR registers in Local APIC so that logical destination addresses work.

671 6790 d 0 h vana /kernel/trunk/ i8042 bug fix...
670 6790 d 4 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ i8042 command word init... It should work on ia32 but I have done it for Indy and I'm not sure it will work because on Silicon should not be the same software in universal microprocesor i8042. So if It will not work I'll remove it and will write i8042 AT function emulation.
629 6808 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/ init task loading (yet buggy)
628 6808 d 3 h decky /kernel/trunk/ ia32: floppy boot image uses GRUB
625 6808 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ We are now almost -Wall clean.
- redefined atomic_t
- deleted many, many unused variables
- some minor code cleanups found using compiler warning.

623 6808 d 11 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add SPINLOCK_DECLARE and SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE macros.
SPINLOCK_DECLARE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
in dynamically allocated structures on which spinlock_initialize() is called after
their creation.
SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
of global spinlocks. It declares and initializes the spinlock.
Moreover, both macros are empty on UP so that -Wall warnings about unused structures
get supressed.

615 6810 d 10 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanups to make it compile with -Wall. Did not catch everything yet.
606 6811 d 6 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Small kconsole readline changes.
Some mips tweaks to allow for real keyboard support in indy.

601 6812 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added some readline functionality to kconsole.
Arrows editing, history, tab completion.

597 6812 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Finer grained TLB invalidate functions for ia32 and amd64. Not yet deployed.
588 6813 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added support for backspace
- printing '\b' should move the cursor one char to the left
- backspace key should return '\b' to application

576 6813 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed ia32 & amd64 to use exc_register instead of trap_register.

Fixed dependency list building. I hope you all have 'makedepend' installed,
if you don't it's time to install it, as CC -M builds the dependency
list without directory names..and it just does not work.

575 6813 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added generic exc_register/exc_dispatch functions,
copied from ia32 architecture. Currently only mips32 uses them.

The chardev_t can now be both input & output device (was
needed for serial driver).

Broken other architectures - ia64, sparc, powerpc will not compile.

Mips32 supports input on all msim, gxemul, indy(tested emulation
in gxemul, loses characters), simics. Simics serial line
is done using polling, I was unable to make it produce
an interrupt when the key was pressed.

566 6815 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed bug in Intel32/AMD64 boot, that could cause page fault on boot.
Fixes of configuration program.

564 6815 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Send in some improvements.
552 6816 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Named spinlocks
548 6817 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup and fixes.
540 6817 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Map all available frames of memory on ia32 and amd64 (ticket #10).
537 6818 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Buddy system cleanup and fixes.
- missing use of KA2PA in frame_init
- truncating black list addresses to frame boundaries
- removal of left-over obsolete structures
- fixing some comments

534 6819 d 2 h jermar / Rename HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel again.
533 6819 d 2 h bondari /SPARTAN/trunk/ Buddy allocator for physical memory complete implementation.
Tested on IA32, AMD64, MIPS32. RWLock Test #5 is not passed.
NOTE: Other architectures could be broken (but should not be)

532 6819 d 2 h jermar / Revert renaming of HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel because of important pending patch.
523 6825 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Clean up.
517 6827 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Implement basic kernel console command recognition.
Commands without arguments are now recognized.

516 6829 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add VMware Workstation 5.5 to SMP compatibility list.
515 6829 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ SMP cleanup continued.
Add nice type for IO APIC ID register.
Replace some magic numbers with more descriptive macros.

514 6829 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/ More SMP cleanup.
Suddenly, keyboard started to work on SMP under Simics.
Still not functional on Bochs (will consult Bochs people).
Doxygen style comments for apic.c.

513 6830 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/ APIC code cleanup.
512 6830 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ SMP work.
Add madt_irq_to_pin().
Make ksmp() use virtual irq_to_pin() function, which makes better sence for ACPI configurations.

511 6830 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Enable dummy kconsole for ia32 and amd64 (UP mode works).
509 6831 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Basic keyboard support for mips32 (msim).
508 6831 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Basic keyboard support for ia32.
For some reason, keyoboard looks dead on SMP.

Make kinit() print "kinit..." strings in longer intervals.

506 6831 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/ preparation for init task loading
503 6831 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Rename arch_late_init() to arch_pre_smp_init().
Add arch_post_smp_init().
Enable IRQ_KBD on ia-32 (doesn't work on Bochs SMP, works on Bochs UP).

501 6831 d 6 h jermar / Rename HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel.
492 6831 d 23 h jermar /SPARTAN/trunk/ Rename map_page_to_frame() to page_mapping_insert() and find_mapping() to page_mapping_find().
New names should make it more apparent that these two belong together.
