3343 5800 d 0 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
3208 5843 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ The real intention of the previous commit was to put the boundary
on 4 GiB, not 16 GiB.

3207 5843 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Introduce FRAME_LOW_16_GiB slab/frame allocator flag. When specified, the
allocators will not allocate memory above 16 GiB. Each architecture needs to
make sure not to merge zones from below and above 16 GiB. Allocations that
require memory below 16 GiB need to be altered to use this flag.

2725 5995 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2465 6238 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Merge arm32 into trunk.
2122 6361 d 1 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ explicit typecast, fix signed/unsigned comparison
2089 6369 d 4 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6379 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2059 6403 d 5 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Improve indentation and formatting.
2001 6429 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation and comment fixes.
1854 6521 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Define architecture-specific thread sub-constructors and sub-destructors on all architectures.
Define the THREAD_FLAG_USPACE which means that the thread runs in user space.
The forementioned changes allow for allocating of user window buffer on sparc64
threads that execute in userspace.

A lot of formatting and indentation fixes.

1787 6569 d 23 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6577 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1767 6585 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Remove unneeded FRAME_PANIC.
Fix some things broken by last commit.

1766 6585 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed frame_alloc call, cleaned a lot of stuff, fixed some not-perfectly-correct error handling.
1760 6588 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1702 6598 d 3 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1236 6646 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Add frame_reference_add().
1138 6676 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ CPU stacks must have two frames on ia64.
Make sure both thread stack frames are mapped in before_thread_runs_arch().
Take STACK_FRAMES into account during kernel memory layout initialization in main_bsp().

1063 6686 d 17 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Add support for more then 2GB of address space for AMD64.
946 6690 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Fix frame deallocation.
Zone state is to be upadated only when the frame refcount reaches zero.

935 6690 d 23 h vana /kernel/trunk/ Two frame stack (standard stack + RSE) on Itanium
827 6721 d 18 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Unimportant changes regarding FPU context.
822 6722 d 18 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed malloc to include second parameter and documented
recommended usage.
Added zone merging, made ia32 & amd64 to merge found zones.

820 6722 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Convert size_t, count_t and index_t to 64-bits on 64-bit architectures.
Change some pfn_t usages to count_t, size_t and index_t.

816 6723 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix mapping1 test.

Cleanup.

814 6723 d 4 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup o frame allocator.
Removed early_malloc & initial heap.
Will break ia64, ppc & sparc.
Added e820 table print.

788 6725 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Move list and fifo data types to adt/.
786 6726 d 1 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ frame_alloc() functions variations in order to avoid problems with frame_alloc_generic() changes.
IMPORTANT: Parameter order for frame_alloc() was changed

778 6726 d 22 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed boot process not to call malloc when slab not initialized.
Added simics workaround.

763 6729 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify frame.h to use shifting instead of multiplication and division.
Define FRAME_WIDTH for all architectures.

762 6729 d 3 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Currently not-working SLAB allocator.
- slightly changed interface to frame_alloc, allow zone preference

759 6729 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Skeleton of SLAB allocator.
724 6744 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Commit of the falloc_bad branch to trunk (719:723).
689 6754 d 0 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ Frame alloc test #1
683 6754 d 2 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/ Console command 'zone' now takes zone address as parameter.
Added buddy system statistics into the 'zone' command.

676 6757 d 22 h bondari /kernel/trunk/generic/ Memory zones console command implementation. todo: buddy allocator structures.
629 6777 d 21 h decky /kernel/trunk/ init task loading (yet buggy)
624 6778 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Add LIST_INITIALIZE() macro to declare and initialize statically allocated lists.
623 6778 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add SPINLOCK_DECLARE and SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE macros.
SPINLOCK_DECLARE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
in dynamically allocated structures on which spinlock_initialize() is called after
their creation.
SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
of global spinlocks. It declares and initializes the spinlock.
Moreover, both macros are empty on UP so that -Wall warnings about unused structures
get supressed.
