2662 6062 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC_M_DATA_READ calls.
2661 6062 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Release the IPC_M_DATA_WRITE buffer even if the write is refused by the
recipient.

2660 6062 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Rename IPC_M_DATA_SEND to IPC_M_DATA_WRITE. Now, when we also add
IPC_M_DATA_READ, it will not clash and cause confusion with userspace wrappers
such as ipc_data_receive(). Rename the forementioned wrappers to
ipc_data_write_send(), ipc_data_write_receive() and ipc_data_write_deliver().

2638 6081 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ Sync IPC comments with IPC code.
2637 6081 d 18 h cejka /trunk/ Extended IPC_M_CONNECT_TO_ME to use 3 user defined parameters.
Phone identifier is passed in ARG5.

2636 6083 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Update comments wrt the previous commit.
Minor formatting fixes.

2635 6083 d 18 h cejka /trunk/ Function ipc_connect_me_to sends 3 user defined arguments now.
One argument added also to ipc_forward_fast.
Fixed devmap and improved its test.

2622 6091 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Add mode argument to IPC forward.
This argument can be used to modify the way forward behaves.

2620 6094 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Be more deterministic when a user accidently uses fast version of IPC
call/answer instead of the full one and passes fewer arguments than required by
the recipient of the call/response.

and the recipient interprets arguments that
were actually not passed by the sender.

2619 6095 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Modify ipc_answer_*() to make use of all six syscall arguments. The recommended
means of answering calls is via the ipc_answer_m() macros (where m denotes the
number of return arguments) that automatically decide between the fast register
version or the slow universal version of ipc_answer().

2618 6096 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Modify asynchronous IPC to make use of all six syscall arguments. The preferred
means of asynchronous communication is now via the set of ipc_call_async_m()
macros, where m is the number of payload arguments passed to the kernel. These
macros will automatically decide between the fast and the universal slow version
of ipc_call_async.

2617 6096 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ STRUCT_TO_USPACE may fail in sys_ipc_call_sync_fast.
2615 6097 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ Modify synchronous IPC to make use of all six syscall arguments. The preferred
means of synchronous communication is now via the set of ipc_call_sync_m_n()
macros, where m is the number of payload arguments passed to the kernel and n is
the number of return values. These macros will automatically decide between the
fast and the universal slow version of ipc_call_sync.

2601 6104 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Fix and improve two IPC related comments.
2557 6148 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/src/ipc/ Enable forwarding of IPC_M_AS_AREA_SEND, IPC_M_AS_AREA_RECV, IPC_M_DATA_SEND
calls. In order to prevent the forwarder from cloberring the call data (i.e.
source and destination address, and size) by treating these three methods as
immutable on forward. This feature is experimental, but has huge benefits in
that it can significantly reduce the amount of data sharing (the middle man need
not modify its address space mappings) or the amount of data copying (the middle
man need not receive the data from the sender and then resend them to the next
recipient). As a result, it can reduce N such calls for a communication channel
with N tasks along the way to 1 such call.

2556 6148 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Rename as_get_size() to as_area_get_size() and add a doxygen comment.
2494 6227 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Implement a new mechanism for copying data between two address spaces based on
IPC. New system method IPC_M_DATA_SEND is introduced. The implementation is
generic and does not make use of any possible architecture optimizations such as
direct copy from one address space to another.

2471 6251 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Greatly improve comments in the IPC layer.
Now I think I finally start to understand our IPC internals :-)

2359 6282 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Improve comments for the IPC subsystem.
Fix formatting and indentation.

2098 6390 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/generic/ avoid conflict with potential keyword
2071 6402 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1923 6495 d 17 h jermar /trunk/ Replace the old IRQ dispatcher and IPC notifier with new implementation.
Note that all architectures except for sparc64 are now broken
and don't even compile.

1875 6534 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1787 6592 d 19 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6599 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1757 6614 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup of comments.
1702 6620 d 23 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1693 6622 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Modified ipc/irq to be able to pass up to 3 arguments to userspace.
1669 6625 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/src/ipc/ Small consitency ipc update.
1595 6628 d 6 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1591 6628 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Small updates to ipc.
1573 6629 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Renamed some things in IPC to be consistent.
Added ipc reporting to kconsole.

Doc updates for frame allocator.

1502 6632 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace nonblocking argument of waitq_sleep_timeout with flags that specify mode of operation.
Now a flag can be used to specify interruptible sleep.
Modify waitq_interrupt_sleep() to only interrupt threads that used this flag.
O

1461 6633 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Slightly changed semantics of AS_AREA_SEND/RECV.
1434 6636 d 19 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added 'realtime' clock interface.
Added some asm macros as memory barriers.
Added drift computing for mips platform.

1428 6637 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/generic/ Added 256K slab, so that AMD can boot (until ELF loader is fixed).
Added AS_AREA_RECV so that the caller can receive AS_AREA.

1417 6639 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Modify as_area_share() to accept destination area flags bitmask from the sender
(i.e. the sender can limit access mode to the shared area for the recipient).
Modify IPC_M_AS_AREA_SEND code to support this. Arguments for sender: arg1=as_area,
arg2=size, arg3=flags_mask.

The mechanism seems to work, but the page fault handlers need to be altered to
distinguish between faults under different access modes.

1413 6640 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/generic/ Reimplement memory sharing. Currently, only
anonymous address space areas can be shared.

1396 6643 d 17 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed mips to compile with fb (missing hw_map).
Fixed mips hw virt/phys addresses of fb.
Moved fb_init to post_mm, because it needs malloc().
