3022 5914 d 16 h decky /branches/dd/ device drivers branch
2649 6078 d 20 h jermar /trunk/boot/arch/ Enable tmpfs in arm32, ia32xen, ia64, ppc32, ppc64 and sparc64.
2551 6158 d 9 h cejka /trunk/ DevMap, VFS and FAT added to boot images for all architectures.
2511 6177 d 7 h vana /trunk/ IA64 loader (based on sparc loader)
2507 6209 d 12 h jermar /trunk/boot/arch/sparc64/loader/ Fix sparc64 loader's pack script for use with gcc 4.2.1 by
avoiding pointer to int type casts so that the newer gcc doesn't emit a warning.
Due to the -Werror flags, such a warning would prevent a successful build.

2479 6255 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ New, better-structured, directory layout for uspace.
2438 6278 d 6 h decky /trunk/ update for new compiler configuration scheme
2250 6324 d 6 h jermar /trunk/boot/ Fix ticket #31.
2237 6328 d 6 h jermar /trunk/boot/arch/sparc64/silo/ Upgrade SILO to 1.4.13.
2185 6333 d 15 h decky /trunk/ rename ipcc to tester
2160 6341 d 8 h decky /trunk/boot/arch/ remove duplicate dependency
2141 6343 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2082 6407 d 14 h decky /trunk/ __asm__ __volatile__ -> asm volatile
2071 6412 d 6 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1997 6466 d 7 h decky /trunk/ add version to init and boot loader
1989 6469 d 12 h decky /trunk/boot/arch/sparc64/loader/ remove disasm on clean
1982 6472 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Modify the sparc64 startup code to not cause MMU traps before it takes over the TLB and
the trap table. Fix several PA2KA and KA2PA omittions or errors. Fix configuration to pass
the DEFS variable along.

1979 6473 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ Configuration changes on sparc64.
Compile TSB support by default.
Ask whether to start AP processors in the loader.

1978 6473 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 code to support physical memory that starts on non-zero addresses.
Still needs to be tested on systems with such setup.

1977 6474 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Fix bad indentation in ofw.c

sparc64 work:
o Fix copyright in main.c
o Move code from unused parts of the trap table.

1972 6485 d 13 h jermar /trunk/ Modify selected function to consume less stack space.

Avoid flushw instruction in the sparc64 loader.

1917 6512 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- hw_map() can now support up to 8M requests
- CPU stacks are now locked in DTLB of the respective processor
- kernel in the boot phase no longer relies on the stack provided by OpenFirmware
- instead of of doing FLUSHW during kernel startup, simply set the
window state registers to the wanted state
- NWINDOW -> NWINDOWS
- Add/fix some comments and copyrights.

1906 6522 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ Small improvements in sparc64.
1903 6524 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ SMP stuff for sparc64.
Almost complete except for IPIs.
The absence of IPI support deadlocks
the kernel when more CPUs are configured.

1899 6525 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- Loader now starts all processors.
- Kernel halts all but the bootstrup processor for now.
- Read clock-frequency from the respective processor node in the device tree

1897 6528 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6529 d 5 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1894 6532 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Add balloc() (a.k.a boot allocator):
- balloc() only needs to know how to allocate memory.
- Memory allocated via balloc() is supposed to be passed to kernel and never freed by boot itself.
- make kernel aware of boot allocations

More work on OFW device tree:
- use balloc() to efficiently and safely allocate memory for the canonical copy of the device tree

sparc64 boot:
- pass OFW device tree root node pointer to kernel

1893 6532 d 8 h jermar /trunk/boot/ Add prototype implementation for creating canonical copy of OpenFirmware device tree.
1881 6539 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- find a CPU node and read its clock_frequency attribute
- implement asm_delay_loop()
- set TICK_COMPARE register according to processor frequency
- small improvements at random places

OpenFirmware work:
- two new functions for walking the device tree

Generic boot loader work:
- added basic string functions

Usual pile of indentation and formatting fixes.

1864 6548 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 update.
- Prototype userspace layer implementation that
at least relates to sparc64 and compiles cleanly.
- Fixes for kernel's preemptible_handler and code
related to running userspace.
- Enable userspace. Several dozen instructions
are now run in userspace! We are pretty near
the userspace milestone for sparc64.

1837 6578 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.
