1944 6429 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add mutual exclusion to keyboard grab and release
functions on sparc64, ppc32, mips32 and ia64.

1932 6431 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Do not copy notification config out of the IRQ structure.
Add the notify member, that toggles notifications on and off instead.
This is good for preventing other tasks from registering the notification
while the notification config is stored outside the IRQ structure.
It should also help to implement the cleanup code.

1931 6431 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC notifications even for polled ns16550 based keyboard.
1925 6432 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/kbd/ Support for grabbing and releasing z8530 keyboard for sparc64.
We might later add some locking.

1923 6432 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Replace the old IRQ dispatcher and IPC notifier with new implementation.
Note that all architectures except for sparc64 are now broken
and don't even compile.

1921 6434 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Changes in ns16550 and z8530 drivers.
Add some stuff for IRQ notifications to irq_t.

1920 6434 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Move the new IRQ redirector to ddi/.
Add function for assigning unique device numbers.
Change sparc64/drivers/kbd.c to assign devno to keyboard.

1919 6435 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Prototypical implementation of new IRQ redirector in sparc64.
The new code can support shared IRQs in kernel (and multiple IRQs per device).
Userspace support is yet to be written.
The only architecture that uses this code is actually sparc64 only.

1912 6441 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Separate mapping of EBUS interrupts into two parts: EBUS and PCI.
1911 6442 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1910 6445 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rename INO to INR, for the sake of consistency with manuals.
1909 6446 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1908 6448 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Add function to find OFW tree node by handle.
1907 6448 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ Add node handle to in-memory ofw tree node.
This is essential for interrupt mapping on sparc64
and perhaps on other platforms that have OpenFirmware.

1899 6452 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- Loader now starts all processors.
- Kernel halts all but the bootstrup processor for now.
- Read clock-frequency from the respective processor node in the device tree

1898 6453 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for FFB (Creator 3D) framebuffer detection on sparc64.
(Not tested as the Ultra 60, which I have for testing, and which
only has this type of framebuffer doesn't boot for some unknown reason.)

1897 6455 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6456 d 7 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1895 6458 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ More ofw_tree work and fixes.
Add ofw_tree_lookup().
Every ofw_tree_node now also contains a disambigued name which is essential for tree lookups.

1894 6459 d 6 h jermar /trunk/ Add balloc() (a.k.a boot allocator):
- balloc() only needs to know how to allocate memory.
- Memory allocated via balloc() is supposed to be passed to kernel and never freed by boot itself.
- make kernel aware of boot allocations

More work on OFW device tree:
- use balloc() to efficiently and safely allocate memory for the canonical copy of the device tree

sparc64 boot:
- pass OFW device tree root node pointer to kernel

1891 6460 d 7 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work:
- Experimental support for TSB (Translation Storage Buffer).

1889 6461 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix bug in mm/as.c:
- as_area_destroy() should not work with AS but as

sparc64 work:
- start implementing TSB support

1888 6464 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1880 6468 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Small improvements here and there.
1875 6471 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.

1871 6472 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ Replace FB_BIG_ENDIAN with FB_INVERT_ENDIAN.
Omit tests for architecture endianness in deciding framebuffer endianness.

1869 6473 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ Pass "fb.bpp-align" property to userspace so that our fb task works properly even on
framebuffers used in some Sun hardware.

1851 6488 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
Define the istate structure.
Move the identity-mapping handler to assembly.
Make the preemptible handler more general so that TL=1 MMU exceptions can make use of it.

Little bit of formatting and indentation.

1849 6492 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
interrupt_vector trap experimental handling.
Minimal reverse-engineered FireHose Controller driver (documentation needed!).
Keyboard on Sun Enterprise is now interrupt driven. Keyboard on Sun Ultra
is still polled.

1848 6498 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rework the z8530 driver so that it is based on z8530 specification rather
than on accidental and limited "compatibility" with i8042.

1844 6500 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add an option to compile the sparc64 kernel for Ultra 5 or Enterprise E6500.
Basic keyboard support (polling) based on ns16550 serial port (deployed on Ultra).

1843 6500 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Move code duplicated in i8042.c and z8530.c to key.c.
1842 6500 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ i8042 and z8530 separated, the tree compiles again.
Now there is some duplicated code in i8042.c and z8530.c,
but that can be eliminated in slower pace.

1841 6500 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.

1838 6505 d 13 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add scan code map for Sun keyboard.
1837 6505 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.

1790 6527 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1787 6529 d 11 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1784 6530 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Sync OpenFirmware functionality with boot.
Random cleanup.

1780 6536 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
