1841 6533 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Start reorganization of different keyboard drivers.
What seemed like a screwed i8042 chip appears to be
Zilog 8530.

The repository won't compile now. To be fixed in next commits.

1838 6537 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add scan code map for Sun keyboard.
1837 6538 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.

1823 6540 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ sparc64 work.
Dump take_over_tlb_and_tt() and add its assembly language replacement.

1822 6541 d 1 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
1. Formatting fixes.
2. When writing to DMMU ASI's, simple membar() can be used in place of flush().
3. Substantial changes in the way the TLB is taken over.
4. Remove unneeded functions.

This is the first revision that also runs on a real world Ultra 5 with UltraSPARC IIi
processor.

Note that 3. needs further work as the current implementation depends on the fact
that the compiler will use registers for local variables in take_over_tlb_and_tt().
Rewrite of that function into assembly is to follow.

1802 6556 d 11 h decky /trunk/ cleanup and unify the build system
1793 6559 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Change hw_map() on sparc64 to use virtual addresses that are
beyond the end of physical memory. It is beneficial in two
ways: first, physical memory is no longer being wasted by
otherwise necessary calls to frame_alloc() and, second,
virtual addresses for devices are now correctly allocated
and do not overlap with the 4M TLB-locked mapping for
kernel text and data.

1792 6559 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Move functionality of tlb_arch_init() to take_over_tlb_and_tt().
Call take_over_tlb_and_tt() very early after the kernel starts
executing.

1790 6559 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Remove OpenFirmware calls from kernel/ entirely.

Switch the sparc64 port to use bootinfo.

Copy memcpy from boot/ to sparc64 kernel/ and
adjust it for memcpy_from/to_uspace.

1789 6559 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Fix ofw_memmap() in boot infrastructure.
The cell size is 32-bit and not equal sizeof(ofw_arg_t).
Define architecture dependant #address-cells and #size-cells for cases
the respective properties are missing in the OpenFirmware device tree.
The algorithm now works both for ppc32 and sparc64.

Add memmap_t, screen_t and keyboard_t to sparc64 bootinfo structure.
Be more verbose during sparc64 boot.

Move ALIGN_UP to generic part of boot/.

Change header guards in several places so that they don't contain double underscore.

1787 6561 d 18 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1784 6562 d 15 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Sync OpenFirmware functionality with boot.
Random cleanup.

1780 6568 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1777 6568 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make sparc64 kernel assume it is loaded by our loader.
1770 6569 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Fix sparc64 to compile again.
1769 6571 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Change cache_error exception to take istate * as a parameter.
Make cache_error() print epc in the panic message.
Do not rely on the compiler to generate 'nop' after 'beq' in atomic_add()
and put it there explicitly.
Indentation fixes and cosmetic changes.

1760 6579 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1735 6585 d 1 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1731 6585 d 11 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Updates in Doxygen-style comments.
Make architecture specific modules appear conditionally in the documentation.
Add time management module.
Improve names of other modules and sort module order
to be more like in the design documentation.

1708 6587 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix some broken doxygen comments.
1705 6589 d 0 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1704 6589 d 4 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Fixed first letter size of subgroup name in Others.
1703 6589 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Put sparc64 interrupt stuff under the Interrupt group in Doxygen-generated documentation.
1702 6589 d 22 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1597 6597 d 4 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added possibility to interrupt task at exit from interrupt routine.
1595 6597 d 4 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1587 6597 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ task_destroy() implementation, fixes in as_destroy() and task_kill().
This is the first version of HelenOS that would perform complete cleanup leading from thread to destruction of address space.

1511 6600 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/ Remove __address from include file included by uspace
1474 6602 d 14 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added syscall that lets kernel regain access to keyboard.
1410 6609 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/ Modify sparc64 to choose optimal page size in each invocation of hw_map().
Use hw_map() to map keyboard device memory.

1382 6613 d 15 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make hardware memory mapping more generic
1377 6614 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/sparc64/include/drivers/ Remove unneeded macro.
1376 6614 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change the way the framebuffer is mapped so that sparc64 is usable again.
1288 6629 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Complete implementation of copy_from_uspace() and copy_to_uspace()
for amd64 and ia32. Other architectures still compile and run,
but need to implement their own assembly-only memcpy(), memcpy_from_uspace(),
memcpy_to_uspace() and their failover parts. For these architectures
only dummy implementations are provided.

1280 6631 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Get rid off obsolete ddi_int_control_arch() on ia64, sparc64 and ppc32.
1265 6632 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Add dummy IRQ_COUNT and irq_ipc_bind_arch() to ia64, ppc32 and sparc64 so that they compile again.
1227 6640 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Reorganize syscall names to better correspond to kernel architecture.
Add dummy placeholders for SYS_AS_AREA_SHARE_APPROVE and
SYS_AS_AREA_SHARE_PERFORM syscalls.
