4685 5416 d 2 h jermar /trunk/ Fix 16bpp modes.
4676 5419 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ RGB conversion functions should work with a well-defined pixel format.
4610 5448 d 4 h svoboda /trunk/ Kernel Mac ADB keyboard driver revived.
4556 5462 d 15 h decky /trunk/ define endianess externally to be able to exactly specify whether we are using UTF-32LE or UTF-32BE
quit messing with BOM in UTF-32

4490 5477 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove redundant index_t and count_t types (which were always quite ambiguous and not actually needed)
4311 5520 d 10 h decky /trunk/ change the way how input devices are wired together according to ticket #44
(also the proposal http://lists.modry.cz/cgi-bin/private/helenos-devel/2009-March/002507.html)

4267 5532 d 0 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ str_ncpy() vs str_cpy(). TODO: The same in userspace.
4223 5538 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/ represent special keystrokes (cursor arrows, page up/down, delete, etc.) as appropriate Unicode characters
do not parse ANSI control sequences in kconsole, but in serial line driver

4220 5538 d 15 h decky /trunk/kernel/ update for string changes
4148 5554 d 12 h decky /trunk/ as kernel little brother drivers are not needed anymore, the device numbers do not have to be correlated between kernel and uspace in any way
introduce new syscall sys_device_assign_devno() for generating system-wide unique device numbers for uspace

4137 5555 d 3 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make optionality of symbol information less intrusive per Jakub's request. Also, improve symtab function names and update their semantics.
4132 5556 d 1 h svoboda /trunk/ Make kernel symbol information optional.
4123 5559 d 13 h decky /trunk/ bring back kernel HID on ppc32
this concludes the transition from chardev_t to indev_t and outdev_t

4030 5568 d 1 h svoboda /trunk/ Init-task names for ppc32.
4023 5569 d 2 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/arch/ Unify arch_pre_main() comments.
4021 5569 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ There is no need to define ioport{8,16,32}_t types for each architecture separately.
3973 5573 d 12 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3957 5579 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/ Unbreak ppc32 candidate.
3956 5579 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/include/ Add missing PIO functions to ppc32.
3941 5580 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Let IRQ claim methods take irq_t * instead of the instance argument.
3940 5580 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make hw_area API more generic
this allows mapping of EGA VRAM on ia32/amd64

3929 5581 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Introduce ioport8_t, ioport16_t and ioport32_t. These types are to be used with
pio_read_n() and pio_write_n() functions. This breaks everything.

3922 5583 d 0 h decky /trunk/ make arch_pre_main optional, don't force any specific prototype
simplify boot process
mips32: detect number of configured CPUs in msim

3908 5584 d 4 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3906 5585 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IRQ handlers are using one superfluous argument and an unused elipsis.
On the other hand, IRQ claim functions would need to be passed the instance
argument.

3902 5585 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce a more platform-neutral name for programmed I/O.

The new API looks like pio_read_n() or pio_write_n(), where n is 8, 16 or 32.
The old API (i.e. inb(), inw(), inl(), outb() outw(), outl()) may have made
some people think that the interface is only to be used with the separate I/O
space. That's not the case. This API is to be implemented on all platforms
so that we can finally have really generic kernel device drivers.

3880 5588 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration
introduce arch_construct_function and inb/outb (sometimes empty) on all platforms
various code cleanup

3879 5588 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ simplify configuration in Makefiles
3878 5588 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce fncptr_t and ioport_t on all platforms
3857 5598 d 5 h decky /trunk/ very experimental TLB refill for ppc32
3856 5598 d 7 h decky /trunk/ ppc32: strict coherency, compatible TLB flush
3855 5598 d 10 h decky /trunk/ flush cache during image copying
3844 5600 d 2 h decky /trunk/ silent kernel console output when user space console is active
3841 5600 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/src/ it is essential to setup the decrementer before potential rescheduling
3839 5600 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/src/mm/ respect stricker lookup algorithm (first look for colliding PTEs, then look for unused PTEs)
3838 5600 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make RANDI a generic macro
3837 5600 d 10 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/ use pseudorandom generator to avoid even the longest path of livelock collisions
3836 5600 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/src/mm/ use secondary hash for kernel identity mapping to avoid livelocks on colliding PHT addresses
3833 5601 d 6 h decky /trunk/ avoid nasty race condition during page fault handling
3830 5602 d 5 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ppc32/ ppc32: add support for cache disable page access control
