3973 5603 d 6 h decky /trunk/kernel/ kernel memory management revisited (phase 2): map physical memory according to zones
- ia32: register reserved and ACPI zones
- pareas are now used only for mapping of present physical memory (hw_area() is gone)
- firmware zones and physical addresses outside any zones are allowed to be mapped generally
- fix nasty antient bug in zones_insert_zone()

3971 5604 d 18 h vana /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/mm/ Fix I/O access to identicaly mapped space
3940 5610 d 0 h decky /trunk/kernel/ make hw_area API more generic
this allows mapping of EGA VRAM on ia32/amd64

3908 5613 d 22 h decky /trunk/ overhaul pareas: use one single physical area for the physical address space not belonging to physical memory
3790 5653 d 5 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Make newlines in panic messages consistent. Add periods at end of messages so that it is obvious whether they are printed entirely.
3777 5657 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/mm/ Replace the disfunct hw_map() with a functional dirty hack.
3776 5657 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/mm/ Do not leave last_frame uninitialized on ia64.
3766 5661 d 2 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/ Humanitarian facelift for ia64.
3765 5661 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/mm/ Cleanup ia64's frame.c.
3763 5661 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Remove most of the ia64 dead / commented out code.
3635 5696 d 21 h vana /trunk/ IA64: Userspace I/O support
3616 5700 d 0 h vana /trunk/ IA64 correctly find CPU wakeup vector from SAL & EFI memory map support
3578 5711 d 9 h vana /trunk/ Alfa of SMP support on IA64
3104 5869 d 10 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Declare arguments for memstr.h operations as pointers instead of uintptr_t.
2745 5969 d 5 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2726 5987 d 7 h vana /trunk/ Basic IA64 boot and kernel suport for real machines
2725 5990 d 3 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2462 6234 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Replace gcc-specific __FUNCTION__ with C99 __func__.
suncc's xregs=no%float can be used only on sparc64.

2170 6301 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Simplify synchronization in as_switch().
The function was oversynchronized, which
was causing deadlocks on the address
space mutex.

Now, address spaces can only be switched
when the asidlock is held. This also protects
stealing of ASIDs. No other synchronization
is necessary.

2089 6364 d 4 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2082 6370 d 4 h decky /trunk/ __asm__ __volatile__ -> asm volatile
2071 6374 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1888 6500 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1851 6524 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work.
Define the istate structure.
Move the identity-mapping handler to assembly.
Make the preemptible handler more general so that TL=1 MMU exceptions can make use of it.

Little bit of formatting and indentation.

1850 6527 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ia64/src/mm/ Indentation and formatting changes.
1787 6564 d 23 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6572 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1767 6580 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Remove unneeded FRAME_PANIC.
Fix some things broken by last commit.

1760 6583 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed interface of frame_alloc/free to use address of frame instead of the pfn.
This makes it impossible to use >4GB of memory on 32-bit machines, but who cares...

1735 6588 d 6 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make kernel prints case consistent
1708 6590 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix some broken doxygen comments.
1705 6592 d 6 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1702 6593 d 3 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1675 6597 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ On ia64, purge DTR entry before overwriting it with new contents.
1621 6600 d 0 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ itanium faulting task kill
1411 6613 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify the hierarchy of page fault handlers to pass access mode that caused the fault.
Architectures are required to pass either PF_ACCESS_READ, PF_ACCESS_WRITE or PF_ACCESS_EXEC
to as_page_fault(), depending on the cause of the fault.

1290 6632 d 3 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ VESA detection failure fix.

(Some headers)

1288 6632 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Complete implementation of copy_from_uspace() and copy_to_uspace()
for amd64 and ia32. Other architectures still compile and run,
but need to implement their own assembly-only memcpy(), memcpy_from_uspace(),
memcpy_to_uspace() and their failover parts. For these architectures
only dummy implementations are provided.

1221 6644 d 18 h decky /kernel/trunk/ printf-related and other code cleanup
