2071 6358 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
1956 6441 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: adopt new IRQ interface, mouse not tested yet
1888 6484 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1793 6546 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Change hw_map() on sparc64 to use virtual addresses that are
beyond the end of physical memory. It is beneficial in two
ways: first, physical memory is no longer being wasted by
otherwise necessary calls to frame_alloc() and, second,
virtual addresses for devices are now correctly allocated
and do not overlap with the 4M TLB-locked mapping for
kernel text and data.

1787 6549 d 1 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6556 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1705 6576 d 8 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Added file with modules definitions and descriptions.
We are able to change modules order and their description in one place.

1702 6577 d 5 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1595 6584 d 12 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added kernel circular buffer klog.
Added automatic killing of tasks raising inappropriate exceptions.
TODO: Fix vsnprintf return value(and behaviour according to specs) and remove workaround in klog.

1411 6597 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify the hierarchy of page fault handlers to pass access mode that caused the fault.
Architectures are required to pass either PF_ACCESS_READ, PF_ACCESS_WRITE or PF_ACCESS_EXEC
to as_page_fault(), depending on the cause of the fault.

1382 6600 d 23 h decky /kernel/trunk/ make hardware memory mapping more generic
1303 6612 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/ zone_merge_all must be called after frame_init is completed - otherwise
new zone information can be allocated over the not-yet-blacklisted areas.

1224 6628 d 6 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Fix pointers output format.
Fix format of slab and zones tables.

1221 6628 d 21 h decky /kernel/trunk/ printf-related and other code cleanup
1196 6635 d 7 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Printf ported back from uspace to kernel.
Printf calls changed to match new conventions.

958 6669 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Nicer ia32 interrupt handlers and structures holding interrupted context data.
Unify the name holding interrupted context data on all architectures to be istate.

925 6670 d 10 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/mm/ Fix e820list on ia32.
825 6701 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Remove WAKEUP_IPI stuff.

Make it possible to use PAGE_GLOBAL on ia32, amd64 and mips32.
Make ia32 and amd64 map the kernel using PAGE_GLOBAL.

822 6701 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Changed malloc to include second parameter and documented
recommended usage.
Added zone merging, made ia32 & amd64 to merge found zones.

820 6701 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Convert size_t, count_t and index_t to 64-bits on 64-bit architectures.
Change some pfn_t usages to count_t, size_t and index_t.

814 6702 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup o frame allocator.
Removed early_malloc & initial heap.
Will break ia64, ppc & sparc.
Added e820 table print.

793 6704 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Use hash_table_get_instance instead of list_get_instance.
Rename page_operations to page_mapping_operations.
Rename page_pt_operations to pt_mapping_operations.
Rename page_ht_operations to ht_mapping_operations.

778 6706 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed boot process not to call malloc when slab not initialized.
Added simics workaround.

756 6709 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6710 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

730 6720 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Finalize ASID management for sparc64 and mips32 by making use of FIFO queue of ASIDs.
727 6721 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ New ASID management subsystem (initial work, more is required).
Some TLB invalidation changes.

703 6728 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().

693 6733 d 2 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/ simplify and cleanup ia32 boot process, remove obsolete stuff
