1917 6438 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- hw_map() can now support up to 8M requests
- CPU stacks are now locked in DTLB of the respective processor
- kernel in the boot phase no longer relies on the stack provided by OpenFirmware
- instead of of doing FLUSHW during kernel startup, simply set the
window state registers to the wanted state
- NWINDOW -> NWINDOWS
- Add/fix some comments and copyrights.

1916 6439 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/trap/ Small change of code organization.
No functional difference.

1915 6439 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A quote from from SPARC V9 specification:

The Y register is deprecated; it is provided only for compatibility with previous versions
of the architecture. It should not be used in new SPARC-V9 software. It is
recommended that all instructions that reference the Y register (i.e., SMUL,
SMULcc, UMUL, UMULcc, MULScc, SDIV, SDIVcc, UDIV, UDIVcc, RDY, and
WRY) be avoided. See the appropriate pages in Appendix A, “Instruction Definitions,”
for suitable substitute instructions.

Still gcc is generating code which uses Y and some of the instructions above.
This change modifies the preemptible_handler() to preserve the Y register
across preemption.

1914 6439 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/generic/ Add function for printing out info about address space.
1912 6440 d 20 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Separate mapping of EBUS interrupts into two parts: EBUS and PCI.
1911 6441 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1910 6444 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rename INO to INR, for the sake of consistency with manuals.
1909 6445 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1908 6447 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/ Add function to find OFW tree node by handle.
1907 6447 d 21 h jermar /trunk/ Add node handle to in-memory ofw tree node.
This is essential for interrupt mapping on sparc64
and perhaps on other platforms that have OpenFirmware.

1906 6448 d 14 h jermar /trunk/ Small improvements in sparc64.
1905 6448 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Small fixes.
The sparc64 kernel now compiles again even if not compiled with SMP support.

1904 6449 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ IPI/cross-call support for sparc64.
SMP on sparc64 is now fully supported.

1903 6450 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ SMP stuff for sparc64.
Almost complete except for IPIs.
The absence of IPI support deadlocks
the kernel when more CPUs are configured.

1902 6451 d 15 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Implement spinlock and test_and_set for sparc64.
1901 6451 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Make SMP related parts of main.c more generic.
Move initialization of local APIC to architecture specific code.
Add arch_post_cpu_init() to support the above.

1900 6451 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Block the secondary processors after they setup kernel mapping in ITLB and DTLB and
switch to kernel trap table.

1899 6451 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- Loader now starts all processors.
- Kernel halts all but the bootstrup processor for now.
- Read clock-frequency from the respective processor node in the device tree

1898 6452 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for FFB (Creator 3D) framebuffer detection on sparc64.
(Not tested as the Ultra 60, which I have for testing, and which
only has this type of framebuffer doesn't boot for some unknown reason.)

1897 6454 d 18 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6455 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.

1895 6457 d 11 h jermar /trunk/ More ofw_tree work and fixes.
Add ofw_tree_lookup().
Every ofw_tree_node now also contains a disambigued name which is essential for tree lookups.

1894 6458 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ Add balloc() (a.k.a boot allocator):
- balloc() only needs to know how to allocate memory.
- Memory allocated via balloc() is supposed to be passed to kernel and never freed by boot itself.
- make kernel aware of boot allocations

More work on OFW device tree:
- use balloc() to efficiently and safely allocate memory for the canonical copy of the device tree

sparc64 boot:
- pass OFW device tree root node pointer to kernel

1892 6458 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Small improvement in initialization of sparc64's TBSs.
1891 6459 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ sparc64 work:
- Experimental support for TSB (Translation Storage Buffer).

1890 6459 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ - Create a dedicated slab cache for as_t objects and switch from malloc/free to slab_alloc/slab_free for
them.

- Slightly fix and improve both the kernel and userspace atomic_add() on sparc64.

- More TSB work on the sparc64 front.

1889 6460 d 12 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix bug in mm/as.c:
- as_area_destroy() should not work with AS but as

sparc64 work:
- start implementing TSB support

1888 6463 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ C99 compliant header guards (hopefully) everywhere in the kernel.
Formatting and indentation changes.
Small improvements in sparc64.

1887 6463 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ When creating TLB mapping for the sparc64 kernel, enable CV (cacheable virtually) bit.
Also install locked mappings only in context 0.

1885 6463 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ On sparc64, get_stack_base() must use the unbiased %sp (i.e. %sp + 2047).
1884 6464 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Unfortunatelly, the sparc64's FPRS register is writable by non-privileged software
so we cannot save only half of the FPU context depending on FPRS dirty bits.
Instead, we must save the entire FPU register file.

1883 6464 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ More sparc64 FPU trap handlers.
1882 6464 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for sparc64 FPU context.
1881 6465 d 19 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- find a CPU node and read its clock_frequency attribute
- implement asm_delay_loop()
- set TICK_COMPARE register according to processor frequency
- small improvements at random places

OpenFirmware work:
- two new functions for walking the device tree

Generic boot loader work:
- added basic string functions

Usual pile of indentation and formatting fixes.

1880 6467 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Small improvements here and there.
1879 6468 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Revert last change.
The register window save area is automatically allocated by the SAVE instruction.

1878 6468 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Even the first kernel register window after the switch from userspace stack needs
proper register window save area [sparc64].

1877 6468 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Coding style fixes.
Remove unneeded sparc64 dummy functions.

1876 6468 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/trap/ Fixes for sparc64's preemptible_handler().
Resynchronize CWP with that of TL=0.

1875 6470 d 12 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work.
- Changes to enable userspace keyboard drivers.
- Fix z8530 initialization (i.e. clear any pending Tx interrupts).
- Experimental support for framebuffers with inverted colors.
