799 6705 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Preliminary work on AMD userspace.
797 6705 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/ Fixed uspace address constants.
796 6705 d 6 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Gxemul support for mips userspace. MIPS now _must_ be started
always with userspace, there is (almost) no way how to pass parameters
to kernel.

794 6705 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added MIPS userspace. Currently can't make it work in gxemul.
793 6705 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Use hash_table_get_instance instead of list_get_instance.
Rename page_operations to page_mapping_operations.
Rename page_pt_operations to pt_mapping_operations.
Rename page_ht_operations to ht_mapping_operations.

765 6709 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add PAGE_WIDTH to aid divisions by PAGE_SIZE.
764 6709 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Tested basic non-cached slab allocation.
763 6709 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify frame.h to use shifting instead of multiplication and division.
Define FRAME_WIDTH for all architectures.

760 6709 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ mips32 is not supposed to allocate page table.
This is done by the generic code now.
Remove PTL0 pointer as it is not needed.

Remove GET_PTL0_ADDRESS from kernel.

Update sparc64 comments in barrier.h.

756 6710 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6711 d 22 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

753 6712 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Convert ASID management of ia64 to ASID FIFO mechanism.
18-bit RIDs are supported.

743 6718 d 2 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ sparc64 work.
13 bits wide means the max value is 8191 and not 0x8191.

741 6718 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Unlock address space prior TLB shootdown in get_asid() to unify
the locking order among mips32, sparc64 and ia64.

Add ASID_STEALING_ENABLED macro to disable the stealing part on ia64
in a clean way.

730 6721 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Finalize ASID management for sparc64 and mips32 by making use of FIFO queue of ASIDs.
727 6723 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ New ASID management subsystem (initial work, more is required).
Some TLB invalidation changes.

724 6725 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Commit of the falloc_bad branch to trunk (719:723).
717 6727 d 4 h decky /kernel/trunk/ remove obsolete in-kernel userspace code
remove CONFIG_USERSPACE switch, uspace support is configured at run-time

704 6729 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make various mips32 tlb manipulation functions preserve EntryHi register.

Cleanup and more precise comments for previous commit.

703 6729 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().

689 6734 d 6 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ Frame alloc test #1
687 6734 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Pass address space identifier to functions in page_operations to support single global page hash table.

684 6734 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Move generic 4-level page table interface to genarch
and enable architectures to use different virtual memory
mechanisms (e.g. page hash tables).
Start page hash table support.
Switch ia64 and sparc64 to page hash tables.
Other architectures keep on using 4-level page table interface.

674 6738 d 11 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Support for printing float numbers in kernel removed.
673 6739 d 1 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add 'version' and 'cpus' kconsole commands.
Remove leading p from names of p* commands.

655 6753 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Compilation fixes.
635 6756 d 23 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed kconsole resolution of similar commands.
Add commands to debugger to allow for simple profiling or
calling debug actions if needed.

631 6758 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed cpu halting in debug panic mode.
627 6758 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix ia64 and sparc64 to compile with new atomic_t.
Fix rwlock test #5 and semaphore test #1 to compile with new atomic_t.

sparc64 work.
TBA must be set before a function call when MMU is switched off.

625 6758 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ We are now almost -Wall clean.
- redefined atomic_t
- deleted many, many unused variables
- some minor code cleanups found using compiler warning.

623 6758 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add SPINLOCK_DECLARE and SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE macros.
SPINLOCK_DECLARE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
in dynamically allocated structures on which spinlock_initialize() is called after
their creation.
SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
of global spinlocks. It declares and initializes the spinlock.
Moreover, both macros are empty on UP so that -Wall warnings about unused structures
get supressed.

622 6759 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Better gcc CALLER implementation
618 6760 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/src/mm/ Unify mips32 and sparc64 tlb_invalidate_all() semantics: do not invalidate locked/wired TLB entries.
615 6760 d 12 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanups to make it compile with -Wall. Did not catch everything yet.
614 6760 d 21 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added support for mips breakpoints.
We have a kind of kernel debugger :-)
Breakpoints on JMP/Branch instructions are not supported and
they are reported after the breakpoint is fired and exited as
a BranchDelay exception. If we found a way, how to detect these
instructions, we would be able to support them as 'one-time' breakpoints.

612 6761 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/src/mm/ Weaken the assumption, that PageMask register contains the right mask everytime.
As a result, TLB exceptions will explicitly write this register when filling TLB entry.
Adjust tlb_print() on mips32 to print PageMask as well.

610 6761 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/ Cleanup of unnecessary things.
609 6761 d 6 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ added support for breakpoints to mips32
607 6761 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed weird simics panic.
Run kconsole, if we panic. This currently works in gxemul,
simics. In mips we need to modify the simulator.
On ia32 we need a function, that would speak directly to the chip
and fetch the character using polling.

606 6761 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Small kconsole readline changes.
Some mips tweaks to allow for real keyboard support in indy.
