940 6675 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Get rid of unneeded macros.
Their functionality has been replaced by the ELF loader.

938 6675 d 18 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Basic support for loading ELF object files.
ia64, amd64, ia32 working.
mips32 requires some attention.

910 6682 d 23 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ ELF framework for all archs. SPARC V9 not tested to compile.
895 6688 d 16 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ sparc64 work.
Very raw and fragile preliminary standalone keyboard support - polling mode only.
Because of a workaround in Simics, the scan codes are the same as on ia32.

894 6688 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Move i8042 driver to genarch as it might be used by more architectures.
860 6695 d 12 h decky /kernel/trunk/ indentation changes
ppc32 fpu context save/restore
ppc32 CPU version
ppc32 memcpy

832 6705 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change pt_mapping_remove() to deallocate frames for empty PTL1, PTL2 and PTL3.
831 6705 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Make use of one unused bit in PTE formats of amd64, ia32 and mips32 to store 1 in valid mappings.
This helps to distinguish valid entries from not present entries with 0 content (i.e. not present
entries with PFN 0 and other bits cleared).

825 6706 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Remove WAKEUP_IPI stuff.

Make it possible to use PAGE_GLOBAL on ia32, amd64 and mips32.
Make ia32 and amd64 map the kernel using PAGE_GLOBAL.

814 6708 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Cleanup o frame allocator.
Removed early_malloc & initial heap.
Will break ia64, ppc & sparc.
Added e820 table print.

808 6709 d 3 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Doc updates.
806 6709 d 10 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Added (finally!) userspace to AMD64.
It does not work on Simics *$U&%&$&*#. Broken simics!!!
There should be probably LEA instead of MOV/ADD, but LEA does not
work in neither qemu nor bochs. Any other simulator to test? :-/

803 6709 d 13 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Basic amd syscall support.
802 6709 d 14 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Userspace now starts executing correctly.
800 6709 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/include/ Split AMD interrupt.h from ia32 version.
799 6709 d 15 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Preliminary work on AMD userspace.
765 6713 d 15 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add PAGE_WIDTH to aid divisions by PAGE_SIZE.
763 6713 d 21 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify frame.h to use shifting instead of multiplication and division.
Define FRAME_WIDTH for all architectures.

760 6714 d 0 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ mips32 is not supposed to allocate page table.
This is done by the generic code now.
Remove PTL0 pointer as it is not needed.

Remove GET_PTL0_ADDRESS from kernel.

Update sparc64 comments in barrier.h.

756 6715 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

727 6727 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ New ASID management subsystem (initial work, more is required).
Some TLB invalidation changes.

703 6733 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
- vm.* -> as.* (as like address space is, imho, more fitting)
- Don't do TLB shootdown on vm_install(). Some architectures only need to call tlb_invalidate_asid().
- Don't allocate all frames for as_area in as_area_create(), but let them be allocated on-demand by as_page_fault().
- Add high-level page fault handler as_page_fault().
- Add as_area_load_mapping().

696 6738 d 17 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ AMD64 SMP boots again
695 6738 d 17 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ make AMD64 boot again (using grub, see /boot tree), SMP is still broken
694 6738 d 18 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ break AMD64, will be fixed soon
685 6738 d 21 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ AMD64 PM initialization
674 6743 d 1 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Support for printing float numbers in kernel removed.
633 6762 d 14 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/ Fixes of compilation of atomic.
625 6762 d 20 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ We are now almost -Wall clean.
- redefined atomic_t
- deleted many, many unused variables
- some minor code cleanups found using compiler warning.

597 6766 d 23 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Finer grained TLB invalidate functions for ia32 and amd64. Not yet deployed.
581 6768 d 0 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Small debug changes.
569 6769 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ sparc64 work.
Implement functions for reading IMMU and DMMU TLBs.

540 6772 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ Map all available frames of memory on ia32 and amd64 (ticket #10).
534 6773 d 17 h jermar / Rename HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel again.
532 6773 d 17 h jermar / Revert renaming of HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel because of important pending patch.
501 6785 d 21 h jermar / Rename HelenOS/SPARTAN to HelenOS/kernel.
467 6799 d 20 h jermar /SPARTAN/trunk/arch/ Add sparc64 context_offset.h.
Fix symbolic links in amd64 to be relative.

457 6800 d 0 h decky /SPARTAN/trunk/ new build system almost finished
419 6814 d 16 h bondari /SPARTAN/trunk/arch/ Memory inline functions for AMD64.
memcmp and memcpy are redefined according to norma

414 6821 d 3 h jermar /SPARTAN/trunk/ Create generic context_save() and context_restore().
These two functions are defined inline and only call context_save_arch() and context_restore_arch(), respectively.
The main purpose of this is to enable centralized commenting of these important and tricky functions.
