812 6703 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Documentation and dot.bochsrc upgrade.
811 6703 d 8 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Fix number of steps in softint division.
Make ia64 port compile with softint.

809 6703 d 12 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/src/smp/ Simics GS patch even in SMP.
808 6703 d 18 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Doc updates.
807 6703 d 18 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/src/boot/ I'm unsure if simics is broken or the only one according to spec,
but SYSCALL now works even with simics.

806 6704 d 2 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Added (finally!) userspace to AMD64.
It does not work on Simics *$U&%&$&*#. Broken simics!!!
There should be probably LEA instead of MOV/ADD, but LEA does not
work in neither qemu nor bochs. Any other simulator to test? :-/

803 6704 d 4 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Basic amd syscall support.
802 6704 d 5 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/ Userspace now starts executing correctly.
800 6704 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/include/ Split AMD interrupt.h from ia32 version.
799 6704 d 7 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Preliminary work on AMD userspace.
798 6704 d 7 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/amd64/src/boot/ fix init_addr virtual address
797 6704 d 10 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/arch/mips32/ Fixed uspace address constants.
796 6704 d 11 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Gxemul support for mips userspace. MIPS now _must_ be started
always with userspace, there is (almost) no way how to pass parameters
to kernel.

794 6704 d 12 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Added MIPS userspace. Currently can't make it work in gxemul.
793 6704 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Use hash_table_get_instance instead of list_get_instance.
Rename page_operations to page_mapping_operations.
Rename page_pt_operations to pt_mapping_operations.
Rename page_ht_operations to ht_mapping_operations.

792 6704 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Page hash table architectures now use generic hash table to manage
mappings.

786 6705 d 12 h bondari /kernel/trunk/ frame_alloc() functions variations in order to avoid problems with frame_alloc_generic() changes.
IMPORTANT: Parameter order for frame_alloc() was changed

778 6706 d 9 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Fixed boot process not to call malloc when slab not initialized.
Added simics workaround.

769 6708 d 1 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ SLAB allocator now uses itself for all its internal structures.
Added description of allocator.
Removed messy_stack_trace from amd64, as it would scroll away important
part of exception.

765 6708 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add PAGE_WIDTH to aid divisions by PAGE_SIZE.
764 6708 d 12 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Tested basic non-cached slab allocation.
763 6708 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Modify frame.h to use shifting instead of multiplication and division.
Define FRAME_WIDTH for all architectures.

762 6708 d 14 h palkovsky /kernel/trunk/ Currently not-working SLAB allocator.
- slightly changed interface to frame_alloc, allow zone preference

760 6708 d 15 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ mips32 is not supposed to allocate page table.
This is done by the generic code now.
Remove PTL0 pointer as it is not needed.

Remove GET_PTL0_ADDRESS from kernel.

Update sparc64 comments in barrier.h.

758 6709 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ sparc64 bugfix.
When disabling IMMU and DMMU the kernel has to perform synchronization operation
(e.g flush %r or membar #Sync instruction). There is no guarantee that the address
contained in %r is in DTLB and therefore the flush instruction can fault. Normally
this would be recognized and fixed by the OpenFirmware Fast Data MMU fault handler.
However, this handler lives in virtually mapped memory and an attempt to execute
there while the MMUs are disabled would result in a nested trap leading to error state.
Replacing flush %r instruction with membar #Sync, wich is sufficient in this case,
fixes this problem.

757 6709 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Blacklist addresses between 0xa0000 and 0xfffff on ia64 for frame allocator.
This area contains VGA text frame buffer and should be avoided.
falloc2 test now passes on ia64.

756 6710 d 4 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6711 d 3 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

753 6711 d 11 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Convert ASID management of ia64 to ASID FIFO mechanism.
18-bit RIDs are supported.

751 6711 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ Fix initialization of pta.base on ia64.

Update info about supported version of Bochs (bump the counter to 2.2.6).
Add Task Priority Register type and initialize this register to a known state.

749 6713 d 11 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ ia64 virtual address translation subsystem update.
748 6714 d 12 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ First HT_HASH_ARCH implementation for ia64.
747 6715 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ ia64 work.
Add nice wrappers for thash and ttag instructions.
Add nice wrappers for accessing reion registers and PTA.
Fix set_vhpt_environment().
Allocate and initialize page_ht (a.k.a. VHPT).

Add missing header to sparc64.
Remove excessive header from debug.h.

746 6715 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Page hash table modifications.
744 6716 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia64/ Remove ia64 boot as it is not needed by the simulator.
743 6717 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ sparc64 work.
13 bits wide means the max value is 8191 and not 0x8191.

742 6717 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ sparc64 work.
Memory context (ASID) is, in fact, 13 bits (and not 12 bits) wide.

741 6717 d 7 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Unlock address space prior TLB shootdown in get_asid() to unify
the locking order among mips32, sparc64 and ia64.

Add ASID_STEALING_ENABLED macro to disable the stealing part on ia64
in a clean way.

740 6717 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ ia64 ASID management code (not tested).
