3863 5603 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Simics machine: modifications needed to run userspace (the next step will be to implement the trap handler for uspace); real machine: small fixes, after them the machine passes some parts of the initialization, but fails to determine CPU frequency (probably due to a different format of Machine Description).
3862 5606 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/kernel/ Changed the structure of header files, which have sun4u and sun4v versions. Implemented some sun4v TSB functions.
3817 5619 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/kernel/ Progress on Niagara: Commented out portions of mm, which are not required for kernel threads (temporarily). Scheduler is working. Implemented a driver of hypervisor's standard input. Kernel console is usable.
3770 5639 d 15 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Working on Niagara port - TLB initialization, MMU fault status area initialization, hypercall enhancement, modified tick.c so that the (hyperprivileged) TICK register does not have to be accessed. Now the initialization phase proceeds, but some parts of it are omitted for now (e.g. CPU initialization).
3745 5646 d 23 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes (revs 3722 to 3744) into the sparc branch.
3743 5647 d 0 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Started to implement support for sun4v. Bootloader adapted to autodetect the architecture (sun4u, sun4v). Some generic sparc64 kernel files split into sun4u and sun4v versions (but the sun4u is still the default in many cases - in order to keep the code compilable). Implemented taking over the MMU. Implemented routines for performing the hypervisor API calls. Implemented a trivial standard output driver. HelenOS banner can now be printed from the kernel on Niagara.
3742 5647 d 0 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ The sparc branch synchronized with trunk at revision 3722 (trunk@3722).
3665 5670 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into the sparc brach.
3664 5670 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Added some SunBlade 1500 stuff (part of it is just temporary - e.g. the new visual). Some small fixes and enhancements.
3618 5680 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Support for framebuffers, where the first pixel is mapped to a different address than the OBP 'reg' property claims. Cleanup, comments, C-style.
3607 5681 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Cleanup and minor fixes.
3593 5685 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged latest trunk changes into sparc branch.
3549 5698 d 13 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented uspace Serengeti drivers for kbd and fb. Integrated with other parts of HelenOS. Now it is possible to play Tetris on a simulated Serengeti machine (usiii.simics).
3514 5707 d 14 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Input support added to SGCN driver, connected to HelenOS kernel (uspace TBD), so that kconsole is usable.
3502 5708 d 15 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Implemented Serengeti console driver (only output, input TBD), all output now goes to the console instead of Simics CLI window.
3477 5738 d 17 h rimsky /branches/sparc/kernel/arch/sparc64/ comments
3467 5741 d 15 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ SMP and CPU initialiation modified to work even with Serengeti OFW tree layout; support for output to the Simics CLI console added (see my blog); some header files modified to conform US-III definition. Now HelenOS (on the sample configuration - usiii.simics) is able to run some userspace tasks.
3343 5775 d 20 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
2510 6124 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

2107 6338 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ When clock() is called by an external interrupt dispatched by the IRQ dispatcher,
no spinlock can be held or the kernel will not be preemptive. This fixes Ticket #24.

Formating and indentation fixes.

2089 6344 d 23 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6355 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2067 6365 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ More formatting changes.
2044 6389 d 19 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ On sparc64's tick interrupt, adjust the TICK_COMPARE register instead of the TICK
register. The TICK register now increments linearily and can be used by the get_cycle()
function.

1994 6411 d 23 h decky /trunk/ Add BGR 0888 visual for Ultra 60
1993 6412 d 0 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1986 6413 d 21 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/drivers/ The FFB framebuffer looks more like 32b
1984 6414 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ sparc64 work:
- untested support for Psycho PCI controller

1946 6445 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ sparc64 work.
- Improve panic screen on data_access_exception
by dumping contents of DSFSR and DSFAR.
- Change the FHC enable interrupt code to only
set the IMAP_V bit.

1921 6450 d 17 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Changes in ns16550 and z8530 drivers.
Add some stuff for IRQ notifications to irq_t.

1920 6451 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Move the new IRQ redirector to ddi/.
Add function for assigning unique device numbers.
Change sparc64/drivers/kbd.c to assign devno to keyboard.

1919 6451 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Prototypical implementation of new IRQ redirector in sparc64.
The new code can support shared IRQs in kernel (and multiple IRQs per device).
Userspace support is yet to be written.
The only architecture that uses this code is actually sparc64 only.

1912 6458 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Separate mapping of EBUS interrupts into two parts: EBUS and PCI.
1911 6458 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add support for interrupt mapping in the Sabre PCI controller.
Add support for PCI and EBUS interrupt mapping via the OpenFirmware device tree.
Unfortunatelly, the code is not capable enough to earn single ns16550 interrupt.
I suspect something needs to be enabled in the EBUS registers.

1910 6461 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Rename INO to INR, for the sake of consistency with manuals.
1909 6462 d 16 h jermar /trunk/ Extend the OFW device tree node with a void pointer. The boot loader is
supposed to reset all pointers in all nodes. The kernel uses the pointer
to recognize that a particular device has already been visited and initialized.

Read interrupt mapping from the OFW device tree for FHC devices (z8530) and
EBUS devices (ns16550). In case of FHC devices, remove hardwired values from
the code and use only values read from the tree. FHC initialization is started
when a FHC device wants to map its interrupt. In case of EBUS devices, map
the interrupt to INO. Interrupt enabling in the interrupt controller for that
specific interrupt is not implemented yet.

1899 6469 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ sparc64 work:
- Loader now starts all processors.
- Kernel halts all but the bootstrup processor for now.
- Read clock-frequency from the respective processor node in the device tree

1898 6469 d 16 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Support for FFB (Creator 3D) framebuffer detection on sparc64.
(Not tested as the Ultra 60, which I have for testing, and which
only has this type of framebuffer doesn't boot for some unknown reason.)

1897 6472 d 0 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 framebuffer code to configure from the OpenFirmware device tree memory representation.
1896 6472 d 15 h jermar /trunk/ Convert sparc64 to detect keyboard and determine
its physical address by walking the memory representation
of the OpenFirmware device tree.

Add bus-specific functions that know how to apply the
"ranges" property to one component of the "reg" property.
Buses supported so far include FHC, EBUS and PCI.
