3440 5749 d 7 h rimsky /branches/sparc/kernel/arch/sparc64/ TLB modifications in order to make functions tlb_print and tlb_invalidate_all work correctly in US-III.
3398 5754 d 5 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ US used as a code for the UltraSPARC I-II subarchitecture instead of US2.
3397 5754 d 6 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Merged recent changes from trunk into the Sparc branch.
3365 5771 d 21 h rimsky /branches/sparc/ Integrated US-III port into the build process; added script for downloading and patching SILO; added patched SILO binaries; modified sources of the Sparc64 port up to the beginning of the main_bsp_separated_stack function: phys. address size not hardwired but configurable (41 bits on US-II, 43 bits on US-III), WSTATE register implicitly written 0 on startup.
3343 5778 d 2 h decky /branches/sparc/ add sparc branch
3274 5787 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ memcpy(), memmove() and similar functions return dst instead of src.
Fix all implementations, including those in assembly. ppc32 assembly
version didn't seem to be affected by this.

3233 5801 d 4 h decky /trunk/ remove dummy page coloring facility, which is currenty not used
3222 5820 d 3 h svoboda /trunk/ Merge program-loader related stuff from dynload branch to trunk. (huge)
3145 5843 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ On sparc64, when the operand to the FLUSH instruction doesn't matter, the
instruction's semantics is to flush the pipeline.

3134 5844 d 9 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Add smc_coherence_block().
3133 5844 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/ Add smc_coherence() macro to all architectures.
So far, only amd64, ia32, ia64 and sparc64 are implemented.

3104 5852 d 12 h svoboda /trunk/kernel/ Declare arguments for memstr.h operations as pointers instead of uintptr_t.
3071 5855 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ reflect changes in generic code
proper formatting directives
coding style

3070 5855 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ introduce portable formatting directives
remove common types

2860 5903 d 23 h cejka /trunk/ Context handling unified for sparc64.
2797 5915 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Each architecture should only announce its endianity.
The conversion macros should be defined only once.

2794 5916 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add macros for byte swapping of uint16_t's.
2745 5952 d 8 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2725 5973 d 5 h decky /trunk/kernel/ remove config.memory_size, get_memory_size() and memory_init.{c|d}
the amount of available memory can be calculated from the sizes of the zones
add FRAMES2SIZE, SIZE2KB and SIZE2MB functions/macros (code readability)

2721 5974 d 5 h decky /trunk/kernel/ convert e820list to a generic physmem command
2610 6055 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Support for six syscall arguments for sparc64.
There is a minor stability issue which needs to be fixed (kernel panics upon entering kconsole from the
console task).

2510 6126 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

2462 6217 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Replace gcc-specific __FUNCTION__ with C99 __func__.
suncc's xregs=no%float can be used only on sparc64.

2460 6217 d 23 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Better infrastructure for building with different compilers.
Separate ICC_CFLAGS added, SUNCC_CFLAGS extended.

2454 6218 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ A bit of infrastructure for building with different compilers.
CFLAGS split into GCC_CFLAGS and SUNCC_CFLAGS.
As of now, there are no separate ICC_CFLAGS, but can be easily added.

2272 6266 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation and formatting fixes.
2267 6268 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Fix indentation.
2266 6268 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Add few assertions to tsb.c and clean it up a little bit.
2252 6269 d 22 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Move one MEMBAR instruction from a delay slot,
which is, due to SF Erratum #51, a potentionally
dangerous place for a MEMBAR to be.

2231 6276 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/ Fix a nasty bug in the TLB miss handlers on sparc64.
After we no longer lock the kernel stack in the DTLB,
there is a real danger of nested DTLB misses. The nested
miss can very easily clobber the DTLB Tag Access register.
Therefore, the original miss may not read this register, but
it has to receive its value as an argument. The argument
value is saved in the trap table when it is guaranteed that
the nested TLB miss will not occur.

2228 6276 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/ Fix ticket #28.
In switch_to_userspace(), the uarg argument is in %i2, not in %i3.

2227 6276 d 13 h decky /trunk/kernel/ start shutdown infrastructure
2216 6277 d 23 h decky /trunk/ make thread ID 64 bit (task ID is 64 bit already)
cleanup thread syscalls

2170 6284 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Simplify synchronization in as_switch().
The function was oversynchronized, which
was causing deadlocks on the address
space mutex.

Now, address spaces can only be switched
when the asidlock is held. This also protects
stealing of ASIDs. No other synchronization
is necessary.

2161 6287 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Fix TSB bug during TSB refill.
When one wants to enable a TSB entry, he or she should set the
entry invalid bit to false, as opposed to setting it to true.

2144 6287 d 21 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/src/mm/ Fix TSB size.
2143 6288 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/arch/sparc64/include/ Remove unneeded enum member.
2141 6288 d 20 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2134 6290 d 0 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Reworked handling of illegal virtual aliases caused by frame reuse.
We moved the incomplete handling from backend's frame method to
backend's page_fault method. The page_fault method is the one that
can create an illegal alias if it writes the userspace frame using
kernel address with a different page color than the page to which is
this frame mapped in userspace. When we detect this, we do D-cache
shootdown on all processors (!!!).

If we add code that accesses userspace memory from kernel address
space, we will have to check for illegal virtual aliases at all such
places.

I tested this on a 4-way simulated E6500 and a real-world Ultra 5,
which has unfortunatelly only one processor.

This solves ticket #26.

2129 6324 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ Fix small problem in sparc64 port.

Bump version to 0.2.0.4 (Sunset).
