3153 5893 d 16 h svoboda /branches/dynload/ Merge latest trunk changes into dynload
2927 5925 d 20 h decky /branches/dynload/ added dynload branch
2439 6275 d 9 h decky /trunk/kernel/arch/ia32/src/ fix ICC compilation
2218 6329 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/ support the possibility to send EOI or Interrupt Acknowledgement
prior to processing the interrupt
(this is essential on some architectures to prevent preemption deadlock)

2107 6392 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ When clock() is called by an external interrupt dispatched by the IRQ dispatcher,
no spinlock can be held or the kernel will not be preemptive. This fixes Ticket #24.

Formating and indentation fixes.

2089 6398 d 17 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2071 6409 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2065 6423 d 8 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Coding style fixes and formatting improvements.
2018 6446 d 12 h decky /trunk/kernel/ rename rdtsc() to get_cycle()
2015 6448 d 10 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

1993 6465 d 18 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1956 6491 d 19 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: adopt new IRQ interface, mouse not tested yet
1837 6575 d 22 h jermar /trunk/ Support 24bpp framebuffers with 4 pixelbytes (each pixel aligned on 32-bits).

At least on sparc64, the OpenFirmware linebytes property specifies the number
of pixels between consecutive scan lines of the display. Fix scanilne calculation,
including possible alignment.

Add note to 8bpp pixel functions pointing out drawbacks of that mode.

1787 6599 d 12 h decky / move kernel/trunk, uspace/trunk and boot/trunk to trunk/kernel, trunk/uspace and trunk/boot
1780 6606 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Replace old __u?? types with respective C99 variants (e.g. uint32_t, int64_t, uintptr_t etc.).
1754 6620 d 19 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Indentation and some improved comments.
Remove forgotten comment from gxemul.sh.

1702 6627 d 16 h cejka /kernel/trunk/ Kernel doxygen comments updated.
1667 6632 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Print spurious interrupt messages only when compiled with CONFIG_DEBUG.
Print warning about looping spinlock only after 100000000 unsuccessfull attempts to gain the spinlock.

1477 6640 d 1 h decky /kernel/trunk/arch/ cleanup
1473 6640 d 10 h decky /kernel/trunk/ kernel support for text-only framebuffer
1371 6653 d 8 h decky /kernel/trunk/ unify the framebuffer API
use physical address as the base address for the framebuffer

1327 6657 d 15 h decky /kernel/trunk/ split framebuffer initialization and sysinfo registration
1318 6658 d 10 h vana /kernel/trunk/ Sysinfo userspace interface
1313 6658 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Do not report possible deadlock on fb_lock.
This issue was causing troubles in connection
with slow framebuffer in simulated environment
when false positives triggered an infinite
recursion of attempts to report deadlock on
fb_lock using printf() and fb_putchar().

1311 6659 d 15 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ Fix number of frames allocated for VESA frame buffer in the singular
case when the frame buffer size is below FRAME_SIZE.

1310 6659 d 17 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change coding style in vesa.c and do some minor changes.
1296 6664 d 16 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ new line only if no clrscr
1292 6666 d 15 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ VESA FB cut unwanted
1289 6666 d 16 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ Amd64 framebuffer
1287 6666 d 20 h vana /kernel/trunk/ ia32 VESA FB support
958 6719 d 10 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Nicer ia32 interrupt handlers and structures holding interrupted context data.
Unify the name holding interrupted context data on all architectures to be istate.

894 6733 d 13 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Move i8042 driver to genarch as it might be used by more architectures.
893 6733 d 18 h jermar /kernel/trunk/arch/ sparc64 work.
Revive OFW console code and use it before the kernel switches to standalone console.

ia32 + ia64 cosmetic changes.

878 6735 d 16 h vana /kernel/trunk/ Active keyboard read for ia32
756 6760 d 6 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Remove the last (i.e. 'root') argument from page_mapping_insert() and page_mapping_find().
Page table address is now extracted from the first (i.e. 'as') argument.
Add a lot of infrastructure to make the above possible.
sparc64 is now broken, most likely because of insufficient identity mapping of physical memory.

755 6761 d 5 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Change page_mapping_find/insert interfaces to take as_t * as first argument
and not asid_t as second argument. This change was necessitated by the
removal of mapping array from as_area_t and the fact that an address
space doesn't have an ASID when it is created.

687 6783 d 14 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Memory management work.
Pass address space identifier to functions in page_operations to support single global page hash table.

671 6789 d 9 h vana /kernel/trunk/ i8042 bug fix...
670 6789 d 12 h vana /kernel/trunk/arch/ia32/src/drivers/ i8042 command word init... It should work on ia32 but I have done it for Indy and I'm not sure it will work because on Silicon should not be the same software in universal microprocesor i8042. So if It will not work I'll remove it and will write i8042 AT function emulation.
623 6807 d 20 h jermar /kernel/trunk/ Add SPINLOCK_DECLARE and SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE macros.
SPINLOCK_DECLARE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
in dynamically allocated structures on which spinlock_initialize() is called after
their creation.
SPINLOCK_INITIALIZE is to be used instead of direct spinlock_t declarations
of global spinlocks. It declares and initializes the spinlock.
Moreover, both macros are empty on UP so that -Wall warnings about unused structures
get supressed.
