4055 5644 d 10 h trochtova /branches/dd/ changes in trunk (rev 4054) merged into dd branch
3022 5927 d 12 h decky /branches/dd/ device drivers branch
2745 6019 d 11 h decky /trunk/ code cleanup (mostly signed/unsigned)
allow extra compiler warnings

2572 6164 d 18 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Remove duplicit implementation of strlen() in kernel, rename is_digit(),
is_white() and co. to their standard names (e.g. isdigit(), isspace()) and
remove duplicit implementation of isdigit(). Fix cstyle in kernel printf()
implementation.

2516 6190 d 2 h vana /trunk/kernel/ IA64 rest of neaded changes to work with simics keyboard
2510 6194 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Experimental support for the cgsix framebuffer, which is found on old Ultra 1
worksations, and the SBUS bus and devices. Not tested.

2505 6227 d 14 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/softint/ Minor cleanup of softint.
2465 6283 d 8 h jermar /trunk/ Merge arm32 into trunk.
2441 6291 d 1 h decky /trunk/kernel/ fix ICC compilation
2321 6312 d 8 h decky /trunk/ keep mouse state in i8042_grab, unify keyboard and mouse IRQ handler
(this fixes ticket #12)

2222 6344 d 2 h decky /trunk/kernel/ map kernel pages explicitly as writable (this solves compatibility issues with Intel Core 2)
make VESA framebuffer initialization more robust

2170 6352 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Simplify synchronization in as_switch().
The function was oversynchronized, which
was causing deadlocks on the address
space mutex.

Now, address spaces can only be switched
when the asidlock is held. This also protects
stealing of ASIDs. No other synchronization
is necessary.

2141 6355 d 23 h jermar /trunk/ The Ultimate Solution To Illegal Virtual Aliases.
It is better to avoid them completely than to fight them.
Switch the sparc64 port to 16K pages. The TLBs and TSBs
continue to operate with 8K pages only. Page tables and
other generic parts operate with 16K pages.

Because the MMU doesn't support 16K directly, each 16K
page is emulated by a pair of 8K pages. With 16K pages,
illegal aliases cannot be created in 16K D-cache.

2125 6400 d 3 h decky /trunk/ experimental support for Objective C
(disabled by default)

2106 6408 d 10 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Merge as_t structure into one and leave the differring parts in as_genarch_t.

Indentation and formatting changes in header files.

2102 6413 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2101 6413 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ fix signed/unsigned comparison and integer overflow
2100 6413 d 4 h decky /trunk/kernel/ signed/unsigned comparison, explicit typecast
2089 6414 d 10 h decky /trunk/ huge type system cleanup
remove cyclical type dependencies across multiple header files
many minor coding style fixes

2086 6416 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ Don't write to frame buffer memory, which is past the resolution.
This fixes Ticket #17

Coding style a formatting changes in the frame buffer code.

2071 6425 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ (c) versus (C)
2054 6453 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Fix important comment in kernel/arch/sparc64/src/proc/scheduler.c.

Improve framebuffer code.

Formatting and indentation fixes.

2015 6464 d 3 h jermar /trunk/ Rework support for virtually indexed cache.
Instead of repeatedly flushing the data cache, which was a huge overkill, refuse to create an illegal address alias
in the kernel (again) and allocate appropriate page color in userspace instead. Extend the detection also to
SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP syscall.

Add support for tracking physical memory areas mappable by SYS_PHYSMEM_MAP.

Lots of coding style changes.

2007 6472 d 1 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Introduce page colors. So far, only sparc64 uses correct page color bits. Other architectures have a dummy define
specifying zero bits for a page color.

There is a new check of page color in as_area_share(). Because of lack of support for this in the userspace, the
check has been #ifef'ed out.

1994 6481 d 9 h decky /trunk/ Add BGR 0888 visual for Ultra 60
1993 6481 d 11 h decky /trunk/ make framebuffer code more generic
1991 6482 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ The prefered switch statement indentation is the one replaced by the previous commit :-)
1990 6482 d 7 h decky /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/fb/ framebuffer cleanup
1981 6485 d 11 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Indentation, formatting and minor changes.
1974 6496 d 4 h jermar /trunk/kernel/genarch/src/ofw/ Rewrite OFW device tree traversal algorithms to iterate over the list of peers rather than recurse on each
peer node. This saves us from big troubles with stack overflows.

1972 6498 d 9 h jermar /trunk/ Modify selected function to consume less stack space.

Avoid flushw instruction in the sparc64 loader.

1957 6507 d 11 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: mouse support, mouse regrab is still broken
1956 6507 d 12 h decky /trunk/kernel/ ia32: adopt new IRQ interface, mouse not tested yet
1944 6515 d 6 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Add mutual exclusion to keyboard grab and release
functions on sparc64, ppc32, mips32 and ia64.

1932 6517 d 3 h jermar /trunk/kernel/ Do not copy notification config out of the IRQ structure.
Add the notify member, that toggles notifications on and off instead.
This is good for preventing other tasks from registering the notification
while the notification config is stored outside the IRQ structure.
It should also help to implement the cleanup code.

1931 6517 d 4 h jermar /trunk/ Add support for IPC notifications even for polled ns16550 based keyboard.
